Fully newly renovated Wildlife Refuge Park that closes at 8:30 PM. Great place to take a long walk among Mother Nature and clear ones ahead. Beautiful nature all around among protected animals like ducks, deer, swans, bald eagle's, and more. A great place to walk and be a photographer.

What a fun hike! This refuge is absolutely beautiful! The trees are a MUST see! The colors are simply breathtaking this time of year, as you will see from my photos/videos.We saw a variety of different birds by the lake when we first arrived, andalthough we didn't see as much wildlife as we would have liked to today, we definitely heard it! The sounds of birds, squirrels, and coyotes made for an adventurous hiking experience for sure!If you have not been here...GO! You will not be disappointed. If you love being in nature around water and wildlife, you will love it here!Do keep in mind that the gates close at 5pm since it gets dark so early now, so plan accordingly so that you can get the full experience. In fact, I think I will be returning tomorrow. There is so much more I want to see. 🦌

29mar2022 ~50s_F ~17:30, Swee and i arrived at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge WA for a ramble: (T) > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 2 > 1 > G > 1 > (T) {Stats: Distance ~2.2 mi / Total Time 1 hr ).There were ~3 vehicles parked, with many more lots available. The Trails were in good condition and seemed well maintained. Indeed, there are Restoration to some of the natural areas. And the Restrooms beside the Trailhead/Parking were Opened and Clean. Many thanks to the Ridgefield NWR 👍Great views of the woods, lakes, and its surroundings. Saw a young deer, probably, 2 eagles .. but no other wildlife. Anyway, lots of peace and sweet solitude 😊During our ~1.5 hours on the Trail, i encountered a total of 6 people; everyone was courteous, cheery, and friendly👍Happy Trails Everyone 😊

As a resident of Ridgefield WA, this is a wonderful place to walk, bike, and take in the scenery. Many varieties of plants, birds and wildlife can be safely observed and photographed here. I highly recommend coming out on a clear sunny day to walk the pathways and hike the trails. There is a car tour as well. Parking is inexpensive at the different entrances. I typically come several times a year, as it's a beautiful getaway right close to home.

We drove (S-unit auto tour portion), beautiful day, had windows down, it is such a treat to have a place like this. We saw all kinds of ducks, nutria, couple blue herons, several deer, and a cow that was seemed quite happy under a shade tree all by itself. Beautiful, peaceful.

It was a cold early spring day but I was able to see so many different birds, and a muskrat too. You have to stay in your car unless you stop at the bird blind where there's a bathroom, or there is a 2 mile hike that's occasionally open. It's beautiful and depending on the weather your view becomes quite dramatic

A lovely huge place with many trails. Looks like it's under construction at the moment, so the visitor center wasn't open when we went. The trains are cool if you like trains and if you don't, they do fade as you walk.

I can't wait until the new visitor center is complete at the trailhead. Looks like a cool building and attractive landscaping. I loved the bridge.I started my day by walking along Carty Lake to the boat launch. Note: There was a killdeer nesting nearby. I didn't see the notice / sign but the resident let me know I was too close and I backed away slowly.On the north side of the refuge, the trail is still one-way which is great. Lots of opportunity to experience the area in solitude and listen to the birds and wind through the trees.Cathlapotle House wasn't open when I was there but it was awesome to see the outside. Will have to go back when it's open.

Beautiful. We stopped on a whim. Pretty close to dusk/ closing time. Didn't have much time to explore, but we saw deer, squirrels and ducks and heard frogs calling and maybe geese? Definitely want to go back. Because we were there late in the day and on a Saturday, the visitors center was closed but there was a vault toilet (outhouse style restroom) in the parking lot. Not sure if it's ADA accessible but on the first part of the trail, a person in a wheelchair or walking with a cane COULD navigate the path, but might need help because of the incline.I think I saw a sign that said pets were NOT allowed..

This is a great drive or walk in the wetlands of Ridgefield. It can be dusty from the cars driving through so you may want to consider when you do a walk on the roads. There are some off road trails so you can get in some miles if you want some time away from traffic.

Such a fantastic place to spend time in nature!My kids and I love to park at the Carty Unit entrance and walk the "Oaks to Wetlands Trail." It's an easy hike that's great for all ages.On our most recent visit, we saw deer and lots of birds. We also enjoyed observing the gorgeous trees and spotted some cool mushrooms as well.

Beautiful place to have a peaceful time. Take binoculars with you, there’s many bird species, deers, swans, goose and colorful landscapes. Auto trail is cool, just follow instructions, stay in your car and don’t bother wildlife. Take your trash with you. We had the chance to see pink and water ferns in the creeks. Some trails may be closed for protection and conservation. Many birds migrate seasonally to this area.

Such a beautiful, peaceful place to drive through on a rainy day! It must be awesome during the warm, sunny months! We saw many different kinds of wildlife. There were 100's of Swans!

Entrance fee is a 3bucks they have an envelope for people near by entry, they have a public restrooms. Please don’t bring your pets(dogs) they really focused wild animals in there. We walked around 2miles during we saw deers, snakes, hawks, Beavers and so many unique birds so they don’t want to Dogs are barking, chasing, hunting at them. So Do not Bring your dogs PLEASE. Beautiful nature today is weather awesome Ridgefield is a beautiful town and great neighbors, I like a small Ridgefield downtown. Very cute and beautiful place. Great walk place with Children, friends and family.

This is a well kept park with a few walking paths, most of which are seasonal. The northern section is primary for walking. The southern section has a walking path but the highlight is a tour you take while driving your own car. I highly recommend the tour, during which you download an audio tour guide on your phone (or pop in a CD which you can borrow from the kiosk) and drive a loop around a lake. The audio tour talks about the animals and plants at different checkpoints along the route. Super simple and thoughtful. I will be going back in the summer when more of the paths are open.

Fall is the best time for shroom hunting . My daughter and I only found 1 edible species, but had fun discovering many new to us types. I love this trail year round. We saw lots of snakes, beautiful birds, and trees galore. The trail is super easy.

Wonderful rainy season, kid activity! I packed a car “picnic” lunch and had the bestest time bird/animal watching. My little one was sick, so it was a perfect way to quarantine and get some fresh air and nature time!

Well decorations during Christmas 🎄 and wonderful holding event at Cowlitz Ballroom there but floor was slid up in half for VIP and half not, creating berries for all guests enjoy event time.Highly recommended for future need to create photos section for guess and singer take photos together. Love that the casino is smoke-free! Hope it stays that way. Enjoyed our afternoon at the casino. Super clean and modern. On the day we went, Lady Luck was on our side!😀 Good choice of restaurants and games ( we mostly play the slots). I always mention this fact (if it's true)- which is that the restrooms are super clean! Always appreciate gambling establishments that keep facilities clean and tidy!

Beautiful! Hotel staff were so nice and helpful! I got a mountain view room on the 14th floor and it was perfect. I highly appreciated the mini fridge, different types of charging ports, the robes and slippers, the toiletries, just everything! Now onto the Pool! Gorgeous cabanas, poolside bar (food & drinks), lounge beds, in pool lounge chairs, and kid friendly! There is so much more to this hotel, I 1000% recommend!!!!

I love this place; it’s such great energy, and everything is new. We always have a lot of fun in the casino. And I love the restaurant's options. The sushi is one of my favorite places to go, and the steakhouse is fantastic! I suggest you try both because you will love it. The new hotel looks good. I didn't have time to stay there yet, but I can't wait to have fun and stay there!

We've been to ilani on numerous occasions and really enjoy it! The casino is smoke free, very clean and the bar staff are friendly. I've seen comments re: tight slots, but the reality is, gambling is just that. We always budget a set amount we're willing to part with and leave happy if we win. In fact, we typically win some, although sometimes we end up giving it back. ;-) My only negative for this casino is, the temperature is VERY chilly. Summer or winter, bring a warm sweater or better yet, a coat.Friday Surf & Turf at Michael Jordan's is a great value. There are also lots of dining choices in a lower price point.The hotel is beautiful! We've been to Vegas upward of 60 times (lots of work trips) and rooms at ilani put Aria, Cosmopolitan etc. to shame. Sadly, Vegas hotels haven't rebounded well post Covid and any type of Housekeeping is a thing of the past. It's now not uncommon to check into one of the nicer (on the surface properties) only to find your room is dirty. This will NOT be the case at ilani, where you'll be greeted by the warmest front desk staff and given the key to an immaculate, beautifully appointed room. For us it's a lovely escape just 45 miles from home!

Ilani does a really great job of checking for Covid without being invasive or overbearing. We went for the Miranda Lambert concert and the venue was awesome. The sound was fantastic and all of the seats had great views of the stage. I would go to another concert here without questions. Right outside the hall was a beautiful smoking area which was beautiful and didn't smell of smoke. Bonus: It was decorated for Christmas so lots of twinkle lights. There is a bathroom area within the concert venue area and plenty of stalls so no super long waits. One minus is the seating is all folding chairs so not the most comfortable, but we stood most of the time anyway. All of the restaurants have excellent food. The gift shop is full of high-end items including a few things for kids but kind of pricey for a gift shop.

My wife and I visited not too long after it opened and neither of us got a good vibe there but we decided to give it another try... it's great!Plenty of choices for food and they actually let you win. So far we've only played slots but they have a pretty good variety machines and tables. Love the self-service drink stations and there's usually tons of parking.Not a bad drive even if you're coming from the south Portland metro area.

There was a free concert, but it was standing room only. By the end, my feet were in fire. One thing I really like about ilani is the No smoking policy!! I absolutely love that and will consider it for future date nights.Clean Casino, but not much staff around if you need anything.

It’s a nice new casino but they still don’t stock some of the latest slots. Also, there are never enough blackjack tables open. You have to wait around a while to get a spot while there are empty tables with no dealer. Usually only one table offering 5 dollar min bet and that’s only on weeknights. Drink prices are high and they are not complimentary while you gamble. As of late I never hear of people winning much, I think they cracked down on money out to pay for the hotel.

Even though it's established in a particular location, it's a new establishment with a lot of potential. I enjoyed the pool side. Bar tender was very nice. I didn't cath her name but she was wonderful. She always had a beautiful smile.Rooms are very beautiful and clean.Security to go up to different floors on the elevator was a good.

Stayed one night. The staff was very friendly and worked hard, loved the $4 valet option. Get the mountain view room, the view is fantastic and the highway noise is barely noticeable and non-existent at night. The room is very luxurious, everything is soft and comfy, we enjoyed coffee in the sitting area overlooking the view.The pool area was nice, we enjoyed the hot tub with plenty of room for 10 and the bar. We didn't gamble, but the floor is nice to walk around, with free coffee and soda machines around.Many dining options, we ate at the Longhouse twice. The curry was outstanding, and the pho was good too. The poke was fine but lacked seasoning and was bland. We had drinks after dinner on the 15th floor and the Muse bar, and the co*cktails there were the best. The pool and Longhouse co*cktails were not as good but probably depends on who is working that day.We'd definitely come again for an event, but otherwise could get boring if you're not there to gamble.

11/10/23, I came to the casino with my son, I had an excellent time. The service was absolutely wonderful. I had gone home and realized I had lost my checkbook and I called the next day. After I gave them my info they were able to find my checkbook. I was able to pick it up at the casino and the man that helped me (Joe) was very nice. The casino is beautiful, good parking, I would recommend it to anyone.

Night out with husband. Love this place. I always win here; tonight I won a $1400 jackpot and in December last year, I won a $9800 jackpot. I only spent $100 on the larger pot but the smaller I ended up being even. Fun vibe too. 4/5 stars because rooms are close to $300+ night and the restaurant wasn’t great.

The staff members specifically security here are not friendly. I came here to pick up my friend and I was sitting by the smoking section in the pick up zone waiting for him. Listening to music and the security manager approached my car a d told me that there are parking spots and should park there in the most rudest way. I tried explaining the I'm waiting for my friend and that he's right behind him and he told me it didn't matter.I would have had no problem if he asked nicely but he didn't he was rude right of the bat.

Loved the show! Great Casino, The concert venue sucked. Chairs were so close together you couldn't really stand up it was a rock show you don't sit, but the set up forces you to. It's on a flat ground (not stadium style), so when people do stand, you can't see ANYTHING. I had a 7ft guy in front of me. (no joke) he was cool though. If you had your phone out you got accosted by security. Again show was great however I will never pay for a concert here again. I'll drive to the beach.

What a nice casino! I really enjoyed the wide open layout, and the expansive selection of table games, loads more than my usual casino back home. All the staff was very polite and professional. We ate dinner at the Longhouse and it was fantastic! Had a good conversation with the bartender about our shared craft and enjoyed a few great drinks and amazing sushi. It's a shame I live several hours away otherwise this place would be my new spot!

It's huge. The food selections range from Micheal Jordan's steakhouse to Smashburger. Plenty of places to get a drink and the sports bar in the back called "The stadium" is wow. Many large screens to watch live sports, eat, & make your bets. Great place to burn some cash.

My friends and I have been to the Casino several times, and we always have a great experience. The restaurant choices are plentiful, and the staff is friendly. They always have great live entertainment options as well. Full disclosure, I have played there in my band. That just gives me a bit more knowledge of the entertainers they hire as I have worked with many of them. All well known top notch bands. I have not had a chance to stay in any of the rooms yet as I live close enough to visit. I hear the new hotel is awesome though.

I definitely do enjoy the new Hotel. Makes it easier to visit the Casino, knowing you have a place to stay if needed.Clean rooms, if anything is needed they are quick to accommodate. Do wish the pool and hot tub area would be open later then 10pm.

Me, my boyfriend and my son all stayed here for mine and my boyfriend's anniversary. When we booked the room, we put in the notes it was our anniversary so they comped us an upgraded room. We stayed about a week, they have a kids quest so that was a plus. And they have all sorts of food here too. We had a great time! 5 stars.

Beautiful rooms and amazing dining and pool area. Very large casino floor with plenty of slots and table games. Valet, bell hops, front desk, pool bartender, and steakhouse bartender were amazing! Super friendly and attentive. The girl in the coffee shop told me to hang on while she put her hair in a bun standing in front of me and the food. Then I asked if they had breakfast items. She told me to go to a restaurant. I did, and they hadn't opened yet. I went back to the coffee shop and ordered a ham sandwich. She started to heat it and I asked her not to. She said that's the way it comes. As I was cashing out, she said the machine wanted to know if you tipped me or not. It was so rude and so unexpected in a place where everyone else was so friendly. I'll be back because I doubt she will still be there, and I loved the hotel. Super close to I5.

Update... They have changed a whole lot. To start, I like the parking garage. You can park and stay dry all the way to the inside.They have roulette on a machine now if the table is closed. They rearranged the machines. The machines seem to pay out a tad bit more than before.I like that they have little extras occasionally on the momentum. Just gotta look for it.I saw the security at the door doing a great job 👍. I like that if you forget your card or new one, you have a kiosk to do it yourself if you choose.I was able to get a burrito and it was vegetarian w/tofu.I enjoy coming here with my mom and husband.

It's absolutely amazing. I've only ever been to casinos in Vegas. This place was so fancy and nice. Went there for my husbands work party it was a gatsby party which was fabulous! The whole thing was just extraordinary! Definitely want to visit this casino again! Also, the bathrooms are crazy insane like amazing. The women's toilets have plastic on them and a button to push, and the old plastic rotates to a new plastic liner. So that when you sit, it is fully sanitized. I've never seen that in my life, just saying that was probably the fanciest pee I've ever had, lol

Honestly, I had a better experience here than I do when I go to Vegas. The casino is brand spanking now, the staff is very attentive, and the rooms are wonderful. There definitely isn’t much to do around the area, but for a place talked away from things, it really had Top-notch service, the food was good, and was impressed with the casino

Went for dinner and a show.. Ate at the sports book, food was excellent service was incredibly slow due to no bartenders on a Saturday night. We were served half our order at a time so one of us had to watch the other eat and drink. Our drinks came one at a time when getting a refill we only got one. The show Queensrych was amazing!! Plenty of bartenders in the back

Standard Reservation Casino. Expensive drinks but well made. Mediocre food unless you're spending a fat stack. Free drinks only for high limit tables. Good rooms and good service. I lost my Jacket at a machine and they grabbed it and returned it for me. They stole my 420 vape out of my coat though, can't have weed on the reservation so I couldn't say anything. I've always thought casinos should be more friendly. Like some tables to help newcomers learn table games. Lots of fun themed brand new slots. They always keep it fresh with fun, creative ways to take your $$$.

Don't bother going to a concert!!! So firstly they have no concert ready space. It is the standard conference room. Strange! Secondly they make an announcement at the beginning on the show about not recording. Fine. However, the security ran up and down the aisles shining flashlights in everyone's face. Disrupting entire sections. It was the weirdest experience at any concert. It was so bad that everyone around me agreed that we would never go to another concert there. Save your money. Just plain weird. Valet was great, drinks not that terrible. Concert, weird!!!

Ignore the negative comments about RV parking. The RV parking situation is fantastic. When you arrive, go to the the parking lot south of the main lot, there's only one entrance and you can't miss it. You're supposed to check into the security shack but when we arrived there was nobody in it. We spotted security driving the lot as we entered and they instructed us where to park. It was a Friday night at about 8pm and there were only a handful of RVs so lots of room. The walk from the RV parking lot to the casino is easy, you do not need a shuttle. You have to cross the main road but there is a crosswalk with pedestrian crossing signs that light up when you push the button before crossing. It's very safe and convenient. We had some food and drinks and gambled a little before returning to the RV a little after midnight. We slept well and it was fairly quiet aside from some light highway noise. Overall this is a excellent RV setup and we will not hesitate to stop again.

Great place to people watch and go see a concert. Good parking is easy to get out with multiple roundabouts, keeping traffic flow smooth. They have complimentary self-serve sodas, water, and coffee. I will go back. There are places to sit if you're disabled.

Nearly everything was great about it. The rooms were beautiful, clean, high tech. Beds were comfortable. Pretty luxurious for the price. Service was awesome. We stayed there over Christmas, and I know it's not fun to have to work on Christmas day, but you wouldn't know it by interacting with the staff. They were pleasant as can be.Just a few minor gripes that they can hopefully fix:The pool is freezing cold. I've never been in an indoor pool that was so cold. It was just odd for how amazing the indoor pool looked for the water to be so unpleasantly cold. It seemed guests were spending 90% of the time in the hot tub and only a couple minutes in the pool.The sliding door on the shower doesn't close. It closed halfway and then rolled back to be open a foot.

Upon arriving in our room we discovered that the toilet seat lid was broken when it fell onto the floor. Obviously the cleaning staff must have been aware of it. The big issue was a motion light censor located on the night stand between the beds that went off and on continuously all night resulting in no sleep. After the first day our room was not cleaned and no clean towels were furnished. When these issues were reported to the Hotel supervisor his response were as follows. Guests must request housekeeping at check in or none will be provided; we were not informed of this. As guests in our pajamas at midnight we would assume that repairs to the sensor light would not be performed in the middle of the night. The supervisor said if we had called they could have turned it off remotely. A placard in the room informing us of this would have been nice, how could we have known? We asked to speak to a manager, he was not in but was going to call, but never received his call. We will be sharing our experiences with family, friends, and acquaintances, and telling them to never stay at Ilani.

These pictures are of the far West side of the lake close to Ocean Beach HWY. On the outer skirts of the lake is a dirt and light gravel wide walking path that circles the whole lake with multiple bridges along the path to cross over to the other side. People walk, run, jog, walk pets, bicycle, and some even kayak out on the lake. On the far West side of the lake is an island they built a walkable wooden bridge to and created a walk-around Japanese Garden that's only open at certain days and times. Around the center of the lake and on the far East side there are multiple playgrounds for kids and there's a multitude of park benches and picnic tables surrounding the entire lake. There's a ton of squirrels, ducks, and geese around the lake depending on the time of year. Everything 4th of July they have a fireworks show and flea market little fairgrounds festival around the center of the lake!

Such a beautiful place! Definitely recommend visiting and taking a stroll

Nice little park, with plenty to do for everyone. The Japanese garden is the best part about the park in my opinion, but the lake is just as good. Small playground on one side of the park, a restroom, and people were walking their dogs around. If you wanted, you could also have a picnic, just wait for summer though.

We went two weeks ago for the concert by the lake. We also went to the fair earlier in June. We're going tonight for one more concert.It is a beautiful, well maintained place to visit.

This place is gorgeous, (specifically the Japanese Garden) lots of different spots for.a picnic (either on the ground or on a bench) & a great path for a mid-day walk or run! Also has a bunch of Poke spots, best place to Pokemon hunt in Longview (imo). My favorite spot to hangout was under the bridge.

Not sure if I was here, but we stopped at a park in this area, the kids had fun, met some children to play with, it was nice. The park was next to a creek or small river, which was so cute.

A beautiful small Japanese garden. Worth checking out.

Great walk to enjoy the scenery! This is a great place for your kids and pets! Lots of ducks in the pond. Went there during the leaves changing color and it was a very relaxing walk.

Beautiful picturesque locations, there were lots of photographers milling around seemingly doing senior portraits. The moss covered trees are mesmerizing and the covered bridge over the river creates a magical little spot for some nice photos. Definitely worth the stop!

It felt somewhat touristy. The mill was cool dating back to the mid 1800’s and the guide was informative. Parking was tricky and their supply of souvenirs was limited to whatever grain was milled that day. It was cool seeing it, but I won’t do it again.

This is such a beautiful, historic place to stop by for a drive or picnic. They are open limited hours on Saturday and Sundays, but the grounds can be explored any day until dusk. The bonus is a covered bridge and a scenic robust Creek. Parking is very limited. If you visit during their open hours, you can get a bag of freshly milled flour or corn meal.

Beautiful historical site of a working grist mill complete with nature paths and natural beauty galore. Definitely want to see this in ever season.

The grist mill is so cute! I spoke to the owner a month before we eloped & they allowed us to use the grounds for our little ceremony. I love the rustic look & it definitely had a huge impact on our pictures. Thank you to the owners for allowing us the opportunity!

What a beautiful lil hidden gem of Washington! It starts off with a very beautiful drive through some backwoods. Then as you make your way down a hill you see this beautiful structure come out of nowhere. It truly a beautiful and peaceful place. With table to sit down and eat and small trail to walk. Then after taking in all the beauty this place has to offer you make your way inside to see to see it’s still a fully functional place. Full of history and things to learn. They even grind up some flower so you can make different types of bread. Worth the drive!!!

It is kind of neat, but it was closed when we were there, and the water-wheel is long gone. If I had my good feet of earlier years, and a good pair of hiking boots, I would have explored a bit, upstream.

It’s the perfect place to drive by. I never have the time to visit when they’re open but even then it’s so gorgeous! During the fall/winter it is super pretty but I think my favorite time to visit is summer, you’re just surrounded by the greenery and it’s so peaceful I definitely recommend visiting.

It's a covered bridge then the mill. It's pretty and green. Lots of trees. We heard there was a cougar spotted a few days ago so we didn't get to comfortable. The walk was nice. If I was a photographer I would want to take pictures of the scenery.

Finally made it there! Very beautiful, especially at fall time (I went early November of last year). Go there at weekday so less people. However it's closed and not functioning most of the time, and I believe, those days when it's functioning, it's super crowded and you have to wait in line for a while..Hope you enjoy the photos I captured there, attached here..

Nice place to stop and take a look around. We went on a Monday so it was closed but still a fun place to explore without it being busy. Beautiful rustic building, quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful area, perfect for those fall photos or just to see some history. This is the only covered bridge in Clark County, and the Grist Mill is a protected historical site and free to visit. It's open on the weekends to see the action, but I went during the week and was still able to wander around outside to take pictures and see the beautiful leaves and river. It's worth the drive!There are restrooms and paths all over, and there were several people with mobility challenges making their way around when I was there, but please know that there are gravel and slopes, so keep that in mind for your visit.

Even if your timing isn't perfect enough to coincide with the handful of hours each week where the mill is "open" for business, this volunteer-run "living museum" is worth a visit alone for its rustic exterior and picturesque surroundings. It's one of the best places in the greater Portland area to experience the full spectrum of autumn arborea, from late September through November, including the scenic drive when approaching from either direction. It is, perhaps unsurprisingly, one of the most photographed structures in the Pacific Northwest.If you do happen to luck out and arrive in the early afternoon hours on Saturday (and maybe Sundays again, in the future), you're treated to a handful of volunteers demonstrating the operation of the milling machines, and providing inexpensive bags of fresh flour and other milled materials for purchase by "donation", the proceeds contributing to the maintenance and operation of this historic site. There are also hands-on opportunities for kids (and adults!) as well as informative posters and infographics that give a glimpse into the history and operation of the mill during its heyday.Private tours are available, as well as booking options for weddings, rehearsals, and similar events, with information available on-site, and on their website.

Very pretty in the fall with leaves turning colour. Only open 1-4pm on Saturday. We showed up and it was closed for a private wedding event. But I took photos. P. S. - If you try to get a photo from under the bridge, beware... I slid down to the creek on my butt, it was muddy!

Amazing spot for photos or to spend time. I’ve never been here when it’s open but this place has that PNW mossy and wet vibe basically year round.So worth the drive and exploring.

It's so peaceful here. I went for Blueberry Pancake Day yesterday, when they make pancakes fresh from the milled grains, and they were delicious! However, it's a nice place to visit anytime you want to get away from the hustle & bustle. Very beautiful.

Nice little detour just 20 minutes off I-5. Cool place to wonder around and very photogenic in the fall with lots of colorful leafy trees. A very short path along the river too.

Great visitor's center! Very informative, but interesting, too. Several hands-on things for kids and teens. Our whole family enjoyed out stop and really learned a lot.You'll find restrooms and hiking trails, but the actual observation deck is a good drive away. Check in to make sure it's open and what the weather is like so that you don't make the drive for nothingThe visitor's center and observatory are pretty rural so plan on getting gas and food in Castle Rock proper.

Glad I stopped! Was headed to seaquest state park but unfortunately they are closed this year. The grounds keeper was super kind and informative while I stopped and asked her about the parks near by. A cute little nature walk about a mile was available to walk. It was a quick stop and super pretty views

The hall wasn't open, but the ranger was available as was a kiosk gift shop. The real draw was the marsh walk, with amazing views of Mt St Helens.

This is a very informative place, where you learn much of the history of the water bodies in the area. The lake, rivers and wetlands have all been drastically changed over eruptions from Helens. There is a single, day use parking lot right as you exit the highway, for Discovery Pass users who simply want to enjoy the wetland trail and not visit the visitors center. There are two larger lots, further in for those looking to partake of the center as well. We were lucky enough to enjoy the wetland trail for about forty minutes, before two busloads of visitors arrived...shortly after 1pm. There are multiple, beautiful spots to pause and take in the bounty and breadth of wetland flora and fauna. I learned about a plant that eats water dwelling beetles through traps in it's root system. On a clear day, you can enjoy distant views of Mt St Helens from the wetland boardwalk.Dogs who are respectful and on leash are welcome. Our little ten pound putz enjoyed herself.There are volunteers randomly walking around who will ask if you have any questions. The guy we ran into was knowledgable, quiet spoken and friendly.The visitors center has bathrooms but none are accessible for only the trail. I highly recommend people check out this natural beauty.

I've loved this place since I was a child. Moved here in 2000. Simple and serene little nature trail just along the Visitor Center that I enjoy walking. Rangers are very inviting. Neat and informative exhibit for those desiring to learn more about Mt. St. Helens. I'd recommend everyone coming here at least once.

A very nice and well kept visitor center. Great key chain selection. You have to pay an extra $5 to see the exhibits and documentary. Its outside the park technically. Very well maintained.

This is a PERFECT outing for littles. The boardwalk loop is about a mile long, completely flat and very accessible (only struggled with one or two little bumps in the wheelchair). Nice educational signage throughout. Parking was abundant when we went, bathrooms were very clean, and there were plenty of places for them to stop for a rest or a snack. The views of the wetlands and foothills were stunning. Keep an eye out for fun bird species! Admission was only $5 and the interpretive center was fabulous. I highly recommend catching the short film if you can. Rangers were super friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. This place really sparked my oldest's interest and now we can't wait to venture closer to the mountain!

The exhibits weren't open yet but there were rangers available on staff in the gift shop, which was still open. This signs on the road leading to the park may have been misleading to some indicating it was closed. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions. This was a very nice facility and the gift shop was incredible with its selection. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are visiting the park in the future.

Really educational and not that expensive to get in. I really liked the movie that goes over what happened in detail. Beautiful walk around the back. I find it strange that it's nowhere near the actual mountain, it's like an hour's drive away but I'm European and used to everything being close together. Gift shop prices were insane though.

Nice place to stop on the way up the mountain. The exhibits are nice but nothing special. There is an overlook above the building that overlooks the valley. They have telescopes and we could see some wildlife. When we visited they had a volunteer up at the overlook pointing out wildlife and points of interest. There are benches outside and a little gift shop. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great small educational center! We went on a pretty cloudy day, but the staff was super polite and informative. Definitely plan to visit during the summer.

April visit was cool and overcast, but still lovely. Hwy 504 is not open to the Johnson Ridge Observatory due to road damage.

Easy drive from Portland, great way to introduce kiddos to volcanoes.Mini movie about the eruption is neat and teaches everyone something.Cool model displays and oodles of learning in the museum. Great gift shop with any kind of mementos you could need.Plenty of parking and shaded parking too, there’s even an area to walk your dog. Paths are very accessible though there is a small incline to access the loop through the marsh, you could definitely roll it or navigate with cane.Tables and spots for picnics and if you don’t pack anything, the snack bar is reasonably priced and has caffeine.Well worth the drive.

Very informative. There is a great view of Mt. St. Helens, but --- only after mid-day. Otherwise, it is backlite and the mountain top fades into the bright skyline. The grounds and buildings are wheelchair accessible. There are two levels, about 5 steps, but there is a ramp also.

Beautiful Visitors Center at Mt. Saint Helens. It provides lots of information before you set out to discover Mt. Saint Helens. The Park Rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a well-done display and a very informational movie; there's a $5 charge if you choose to see it. Of course, there's also the requisite Gift Shop on site.

I enjoy coming here very much. The trails are nicely maintained, the bathrooms are clean too. It is great to have places to visit that are free too. Thanks I will be back!

I think I was the best banana posing fully breathing person to ever jump here. I was smiling the entire time. Next time I plan on wearing long sleeves and maybe a turtleneck. I had no idea I had so much excess skin just begging to be contoured in so many satisfying ways. I will do this again. Maybe at their ocean shores location.

Absolutely phenomenal! Everything about this place was perfect- the staff was incredible and made the experience even better! Such incredible views of the local scenery and WOW was jumping out of a plane the best thing ever. Will definitely be back!

The best place to check off your bucket list! All the instructors here know exactly what they are doing and they are experienced skydivers. I checked off my 40th with them and they sure did not disappoint me or my 4 other friends. Every one of them was friendly, easy to work with, and very knowledgeable. If I m going to jump again Skydive Toledo will be my place! The view and the open skies are nothing but amazing! Don't let fear overtake you from experience this. You can count on these guys! They will make it fun but safe without anything to worried about.

Was my first time skydiving. I think I picked the perfect spot. The instructors were so much fun and made me forget I was jumping out of a plane soon. They answered all our questions which made me feel more comfortable like they were experts and I was in good hands. All of the people there were so nice. The prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend doing the photo and videos!!! I couldn't stop smiling the whole way down.

Had the most amazing time my instructor Tim was awesome he made me feel very comfortable it was my first of many jumps to come!

It was the most thrilling experience I have ever encountered. The instructor Tim was very good and he makes sure that your jump is fantastic. The free fall was exhilarating and then the chute opens and next thing you know you are gliding on down. The instructor lets you grab the handles so you can make turns and spins and then just before landing he will take control so that you have a nice soft landing. If you ever thought about jumping you won't be disappointed.

Had a fantastic time. They were very accommodating and informative. I was alone and they helped to make feel comfortable

I pass this place at least a thousand times a year..no b.s.Back and forth to work and home I heard that they were making some glass mushrooms..my woman loves anything mushroom related so I finally took my happy butt in there....glad I did.Surrounded by beautiful glass and color can put one at ease..in no time at all I had the prize possession in hand which was for her Xmas gift...People were very cool and laid back..had a great conversation and will be going back to actually learn the craft of glass blowing.Prices are good and service was great...if you think the cost is high..go to the dollar store..if you want something actually hand crafted come here...glass art is never cheap..takes time and patience...That being said...I will be back soon.Awesome experience..thank you so much...Remember to support your local business for they are the backbone of your community.

Took my husband on a date night and booked a private class. You can have up to ten people. We were able to make multiple pieces in our allotted time frame because it was just the two of us. The gentleman were very knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process and explained everything that we were doing as we were doing it. Would recommend for an date a or even a family evening you can bring children into the shop as long as they're older than four. I cannot wait to do this again.

This place is awesome! This is my second time booking a private class and this time we did it as a family to blow Christmas ornaments. Very fun! Would recommend this place for gifts and classes.

I took a private lesson here with Tim and Ash, both were absolutely delightful to be around and quietly masters of their craft.With no prior experience, I had the opportunity to craft 4 beautiful, organic pieces under their guidance. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone, and I'm excited for an opportunity to return to the shop!

We had the private lesson for 10 but we opted for bringing 4 (us included). The two guys leading the session are super nice and knowledgeable. They allowed us to take our time with picking what item we wanted to make along with the colors. We all had fun and loved our final products. The only thing we were all bummed about is the amount/lack thereof, with making our items ourselves. I do realize that the reason for that most likely is because it’s a liability if someone hurts themselves or someone else, lowers the likelihood of a customer making something that breaks during cooldown or something they don’t like, etc. Like I said, we still had a great time and that’s why I gave it 5 stars, just know going into it, you’ll only be doing a few things with the bulk of the work going to the workers at the shop.

Great fun! Took a group of girlfriends for a class and we all made glass pumpkins (lots of other choices but we were feeling the fall vibes). Great friendly people and beautiful things for purchase.

This as a fun experience. We were given a class here for a Christmas present. It was a good class. Hqbds on and the staff was helpful. They are good with children. The staff tolerated our families rough sense of humor well. They make beautiful creations here. You can see in the picture many pumpkin and jelly fish designs. The class allowed us to make a bowl, a globe thing, a pond orb. Everyone had fun. We were a decent sized group and they said smaller groups have more options of things to make because they will have more time.

Central glassworks has been a long time business here and Centralia. It provides informative classwork, as well as tours to people in the community as well as people that are coming through from the outside. Take some time to visit the show room and come and visit their facility so that you can see what they have to offer.

A group of 4 women had a great time puffing their cheeks trying to blow glass ornaments - what a great time! The instructors were very helpful and the whole activity was really fun. I bought an activity here through living social or something like that for a group of 4 to each make 2 ornaments. It was a pretty good deal, but even without the special pricing I think regular price for this activity is worth it. They had many items on display for things you could make in other classes.... I would love to go back and make a glass pumpkin! For this class we each left with 2 ornaments that we can treasure for years to come or gift to someone who would enjoy them. Great fun!

We purchased a private session for 5 novices to have the glass blowing experience. They made us feel welcome and at home. Very knowledgeable staff who explained what was going to happen and what we needed to do and stayed with us the entire time. I felt like we were in great hands and they made sure we were safe and had a great time. Can't wait to pick up our products. They took great care of us all the way through and would recommend this to anyone wanting to try something unique and fun! Totally worth investing your time and the minimal cost for maximum fun.

Wow! Just wow! I am SO sad I can't give more than 5 stars. I got to visit for a glass blowing experience for my birthday and I knew I would be back again to make more. Kevin, the owner is super knowledgeable and patient teaching people the art of glass blowing.From the first time I got to sculpt glass I was hooked. I came back again in June to make a bowl for my best friends birthday. I even made a paperweight for myself, since you get to be even more hands on making one.I am excited for my next class, I love it so much I booked a private lesson so I can make as many items as possible while there. If you have ever been curious what glass blowing is like, visit the hot shop and take a peek. I promise you, it is worth the visit.

It’s closed now due to construction, but when we did come here we we had such a good time here. Super private camp spots. Easy walks to the bathroom. Each site at the section we were in had its own little private water access. We saw an owl sitting in the ditch on our way in. Heard howls at night. The scenery is amazing. 10/10 can’t wait to camp here again. Scheduling is the hardest part. It’s always booked!

Awesome location! Does get busy on the weekends, so make sure to reserve a spot. The staff was super helpful and kind. Easy self check-in 🙌Spots are close together but well accommodating for rv hookup. Bathrooms, showers and dumps are available.Despite being fully booked, everyone was respectful and quiet in the evening. Perfect location for water activities 👌We will return with Kayaks and fishing poles 🎣

Beautiful Lakeside State Park. Great for kayaking or paddle boarding or swimming, good family time, trails easy to negotiate. The reason I get it I’ll need to stars is there is no escaping the highway nice you are constantly hearing the Rambo and wine of Highway vehicles but you can still have hear the birds and it’s still beautiful. cabins one, one, two, three, are the best

Great place for the family. Just wish they would open the park again soon. We love brining the dogs here. And they have a few picnic tables but you have to grab them quick.

We spent 7 days in this beautiful campground. We were quite surprised at how busy it was for the Thanksgiving week but most everyone was kind and respectful of other people's space. Park rangers were helpful and friendly. Our pup had a wonderful time exploring, on leash of course, this is how she earned her Bark Ranger bandana.

A snowy and frozen night at Ike Kinswa State Park Campground.I absolutely enjoyed my stay closing out 2021 in a lovely and picturesque park campground.Only two other people were at the park, but interestingly, almost all the sites had reservation tags on them. The only loop that was open had all but 2 sites with power and water. I don't use power or water in my van as I'm entirely self contained. The space rates were 20$ for regular sites, and 30 for hook-up sites. I paid twenty and left a note on the payment envelope that I had to use a hook-up site because the only two non hook-up sites that were available we're out of reach due.to snow and ice. The ranger was out the next morning with a tractor clearing snow and ice from sites and told me it wasn't a problem at all, that he had seen tracks attempting to get in to the non hook-up area and saw the slipping and sliding tracks. Anyway, he was very kind, polite and amicable, a great set of qualities for a park ranger.This is a beautifully wooded park. There are very nice looking cabins just off the shore of Mayfield Lake. Lovely views. The community toilets were very clean and smelled well taken care of. As we left, we made the loop once again to get a good look at all the sites. I'm my opinion, IKSP is a top-tier state park. As we left, we saw the ranger diligently clearing out spaces for many travelers that probably wouldn't show up due to the weather.I totally recommend Ike Kinswa. 10 of 10!

This is a very nice park. I was in a 20' travel trailer and at the time, there were only partial hookup spaces available. They have a dump station though. Construction was taking place on a full hookup area, and it looks like that will be ready by summer. The park is very clean, the staff are very friendly. Caught trout at the lake. A bald eagle dropped down and snatched one right in front of me, that was pretty cool. Deer roam the park. Beautiful lake with incredible sunsets.

It was great. Super quiet. Clean and the bathrooms were easy to find and walk to. During this time, the second half of the camp lots weren't being used and it was a great place to quietly walk the dogs and enjoy the scenery. The lake was also visible from where we were and is easy to walk to.

Fantastic state park with great staff, roomy sites and lots of fun things to do. The lake is very accessible and not too crowded with swim areas. Trails are well kept and have beautiful views. The roads are in excellent shape and are designed for larger campers. Many of the sites are deep enough for longer trailers and hookups are convenient. This was a great place to unwind and enjoy the amenities.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Ike Kinswa State Park and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The park was well-maintained and there were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The hiking trails were absolutely stunning, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The lake was also very clean and perfect for swimming. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The facilities were clean and well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable stay. Overall, I highly recommend Ike Kinswa State Park for anyone looking for a great outdoor experience!

Very clean & quiet. Beautiful area. Trash has to be hauled near the dump station when you leave the park. May have been others closer but it's sorta off season. (Went camping Thanksgiving week).Lots of cabins on the lake to rent here. They looked well maintained and a group we talked to said they were cozy.Some sites had electric and water but I don't think any sites had sewer. There is a nice size dump station as you leave the park.There are nice walking trails around the area. I ended up driving to see Mt Saint Helens during my visit which was about 2hour drive to the overlook we went to.Lots of trees have been cut down and are sorts sprawled everywhere. I'm feeling it's more off-season and they are working on maintenance throughout the park which is great.Definitely worth camping here! Sorry didn't take photos of the maps of the park this time.

Tons of variety here. I love the products from the sipping vinegar stall and the bread peddler, both delicious! Tons of florists and nurseries, a couple of meats and seafoods, breads, food shops surrounding it by the back, but one star minus off for being one of the most expensive farmers market I’ve been to in most states.

I love this Farmer's Market and the variety of vendors. All of the produce is fresh and appealing; bakery items are tantalizing; hand crafted items are unique and well made. I was glad to see the number of people frequenting the vendors. Most of the restaurant kiosks were open and well attended despite rain threatening.

Huge fan! Fall is my favorite time of year and the Farmers Market always refects why. Colors, people, food and personal handcrafted products are amazing 😍

Ideal place for a day stop. Food and homemade items. Live music to sit awhile and relax. Times very and dates with more or less sellers. Worth checking this place out.

I love the farmers market, I wish it was bigger, we got some really great jam that was spicy, I chickened out on the hottest one, but the second hottest was so good!. Don't forget to stop by the pickle stand, and get a fresh sour pickle. And the soap stand and get a bar of home made soap. All very worth it!

My first time to this market. Not as many produce vendors but it was just before Xmas and there isn't as much local produce in winter versus summer. There were a few bakeries, a butcher, honey, cheese, & jam vendors plus those with crafts, wellness products, etc. The eateries surrounding the main market are okay - a nice variety but flavor was flat. I'm a bit picky so it could have been my taste buds. Still, most will find some tasty, quality food items to take home. For me, this will be a once a month trip bc there is a sourdough bread situation there I cannot resist.

One of the best places to visit in Olympia! Lots of variety in the vendors, and everybody is so helpful and friendly. Lots of amazing deals if you know where to look! Also, I LOVE the amount of booths that offer samples. Some of my favorite things to buy here are delicious jams from Johnson Berry Farms, and the hummus/pita chips from Mena! Can’t wait for summer again so I can visit more often!

First time visited the farmers market. They sell many fruits, soups, honey, homemade art/craft and other stuff. We had paella and bought some fresh apples. Nice place to walk around.

This was a nice farmers market with a variety of vendors. I particularly liked the bakeries that were there. The market also had amazing fresh fruit available for sale. Buy some apples!

So big and fun! There is much to see and do! It happened to be 'Olympia Harbor Days' Celebrating 50 years! So it was twice as nice! The weather wasn't as good as we would like, but still very nice!! WEAR GOOD SHOES FOR WALKING!! 😁

Very nice market. Large with lots of items. Flowers, produce, meats, cheeses, soaps, honey, jams, dog treats, woodworking, crafts, wines, and lots of different food. Live music too. Definitely recommend stopping to check it out. I ended up with some delicious cherries. They are closed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Open Thursday - Sunday 10am-3pm. No pets are allowed either.

A MUST STOP IN OLYMPIA!we drove from Portland to Seattle and stopped in Olympia for the gluten free bakery. A barista at the Olympia brewing company recommended the farmers market and it was SO FUN!!!! many stands, super nice vendors, reasonable prices. Plus the marina was only a 5 min walk away!!

We were visiting Olympia on Friday and arrived at 1:30 pm. It’s great that there was free parking. This farmers market closes at 3 pm. We ate at Dingey’s and had a little time to go buy items. Most of the vendors were packing up.

It's definitely worth visiting! The staff is amazing, I took cash out so I didn't need to use my card when we visited the gift shop, but I was short 84 cents no biggie was gonna use my card, but the lady insisted I not use my card for such a small amount and she would cover it. I bought my tickets off the website for $15, but there is an ebt discount for $3 a ticket. The exhibits were great, and my son had a blast! Will definitely b back!

Love this place for the kids. We've been coming almost every 2 months for 1.5 years (we live 40 min away, otherwise we would come a lot more). My boys are almost 4 years apart (4 & 7.5) but they both love it.I've taken pictures of the food boards, since there is nowhere else you can find prices. The food is pretty yummy, and not priced like amusem*nt park food either.

Super good, this place is better than the Tacoma children museum and Bellevue KidsQuest children museum. 4 hours is not enough, next time I will aim for 6 hours for my kid. Outside and inside playhouse were awesome.

This is such a fun place for both younger and older children! We loved all the fun areas for imaginative play downstairs and all the creative areas upstairs, including a fun part exclusively for ages 4 and under. The outdoors is also a blast for all ages, especially with the large pebbled play area with trucks and water flowing. I highly recommend you check it out at least once and be prepared to stay for as many hours as your children will last. A weekday mid-afternoon seems to be a good time to come when the youngest children tend to not be here and it's mainly older children who no longer nap. If we didn't live over an hour away, we'd for sure become members!

Yes! The Children's Museum that we have always wished for! Our group had people from 4 yrs old through to 57 years and we all had a blast! We got a membership so we will be back.The employees were all friendly and helpful!You have to check this place out!

This place is amazing! We were lucky enough to attend an anniversary party for my husband's work, D L Henricksen. They rented out the entire museum and it was seriously a blast. There's so much to do. My 6 year old had so much fun and we are already planning out next visit.

This is a great museum for kids, our 4 year old daughter loved this! Outside near the museum is also public water play area which worked out perfect for a hot day.There are all kinds of areas to explore for kids of various ages.Outside there's a track to ride a tricycle around, there's a ship, there was areas to build your own mud pie, and areas to climb and play. Inside there was some slides, play areas, and other interesting things.Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. We were just in Olympia one night, this was a perfect activity.

Having a young child in Washington means dealing with rain a lot of the time. Now don't get me wrong, I love rainy-day adventures even outside. But sometimes it's great even on sunny days to let your kid just run around and safely have a blast while learning.I have been attending the Hands-On Museum for over 20 years with my older children and now my young son. It's great to see how much it has changed and the location where it's at is a beautiful structure. Proud to have been part of the fundraising a long time ago for this location. My son loves running around and so do I because I get to just be a child with him again and see the things that he sees.It can be loud and chaotic, but it goes with the place and it's accepted and expected. Fortunately for those who have sensory issues, they do have quiet hours. A great place for a birthday party or to take a grandchild or a niece or a nephew as the fun Aunt or Uncle. You can go as a one time visit but honestly a membership pays off in 1 or 2 visits.In the summer it has a great water structure that the kids love to just splash and get wet in. Not intended for swimming, just for dipping your feet and simply being a child or with child like wonder. I'd recommend you attend with a child, or cool off elsewhere in warm months, it's just creepy otherwise hanging out around young children and their family.

This is amazing for children of all ages. Spent the entire day. My 3 year old son was over the moon with the place. Food was excellent. I cant think of anything they didnt have to entertain children and adults. Would recommend this place to all.

I'm an adult and I love this place. My kids always leave smiling. The staff are super friendly to kids and stressed out adults. Every time we go there is something new to do. We are so lucky to have this place in our backyard.

What a blast for kids of all ages! I had fun exploring too. So many stimulating and problem solving activities to get those wheels turning. A fantastic place to let yourself and kids imagination run wild and live in a creative world. You need at least 3 hours to enjoy everything. Make sure to take water to stay hydrated because you are going to be all over the place trying to keep up lol.

Great place! So happy to see more businesses having programs that cater to single income families on state funded programs. What would have cost me over 60 dollars cost under 10, just to get in the doors. You can easily spend all day with the family. Hope to be back soon, we came at a time of day that my littles would normally be napping and we became overwhelmed pretty quickly between the things to see and other children, etc. Thank you for being such a fantastic place. A really nice place for a tour! The staff here are very knowledgeable and professional. We got to go in when they were feeding the cats and it was an awesome experience! Recommended for anyone of any age.

A local hidden treasure. The volunteer staff is articulate and enthusiastic, the cats beautiful and well cared for, and the mission both noble and heartbreaking. For a family, entrance can get steep ($30pp in 2023), but it all directly supports the mission and the cats. You feel like you supported something worthy, as well as learned something and had a great time. The tour is basically a guided walk-and-stop journey among the cats, with an astoundingly well-informed volunteer guide. There's a small gift shop at the end, but really, the tour is the main (only?) attraction. Reservations must be made at least the day before, and there are limited times and days for tours. A ways out of the way on Harstine Island, but an exotic outing for sure. My kids (12y.o.) loved it!

My youngest is 10 and she loves cats. All 5 of us had a blast, especially her. Be forewarned, any parents taking there children there, needs to know that their children Will Not go past the wooden fence line that is there. Only the staff. Do Not attempt to go past the wooden fence line and put your fingers through. Even the volunteer by the name of Andi only uses a feather to get near the cats. A couple of them were Very Fiesty, even with her. It was around the time they get fed when we were on our tour.It was worth the trip!! It feels like a Personal Wild Cat Refuge Tour. It wasn't crowded like it is at the zoo. Also noted, Do Not Take Photos. You may purchase a Photo CD at the end of the tour in there gift shop.

Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and we learned a lot about these beautiful cats, which are well taken care of and housed in very natural enclosures. There were cats I'd never even heard of before, and many of them vocalized while we were there. We even heard a Cougar purr!

Wow! Amazing. The big cats are astonishing. It's worth the drive. If you get chance to see these magnificent animals, do it.

If you wanted to get a private tour experience and learn in great detail not only about people that started this advocacy for felines born in captivity but also learn about each of their 50 or so big cats, then the Wild Felid Advocacy Center will suit you well! Louise was our guide and not only was very warm and courteous she was very accepting of our 5 year old twins on their birthday and in near the most rainiest days I’ve ever encountered in my many years of living in WA. Their wasn’t one disappointment to name, not every cat wants to be seen, but because they have 50 or so large cats in mostly their own beautifully crafted enclosure you feel like you see most of them rather easily and over half came right up to the fence to greet us and then walk around and show us their space and how they like to hide. 100% will tell all my friends and family and continue to support this awesome place as long as they welcome guests. This was my second time here and I loved it again. The animals are so well cared for and fascinating to see so close. It's a beautiful setting and it is so obvious that it is a labor of love. Both tours I went on were conversational in nature, educational, and entertaining. The first time I went I did the Behind the Scenes Tour, which might seem expensive but was worth every penny. That we did the Adults Only 1:00 tour, which was less expensive and an absolute value. I'll be going again. And again.

Amazing experience. We went during the feeding time. Cost about $50 a ticket. The tour was an hour and a half it was two adults and my 12 year old daughter. Minimum Ave for the night time feeding is 12 years old. The group size was about 10 people or less. They have different packages and one geared towards family of smaller children.The of admission goes straight back into the center.The volunteers were very knowledgeable about all the cats. They have 57 big cats living there. The most amazing ones for me were the 2 Tigers. During dinner they were able to get them to growl and snarl really loud.They have a no picture policy of the cats in order to protect the sanctuary and cats from people who get too close trying to take a picture-and injure themselves in the process. Also to protect the sanctuary from misrepresentation, to protect the cats from ingesting deadly foreign debris (dropped camera and phones), and to help visitors really see and experience the cats rather than worrying about getting the best photo. They have flash drives available for a nominal fee after your tour.I would strongly urge you not to try and take any photos while there. Posting them can send the wrong message to future visitors. I made this mistake recently and unintentionally sent the wrong message to those who read my review. It made it seem the leopard was kept in a tiny cage where in truth that’s just the spot she eats. The cats are very well cared and have large and spacious enclosures to move around.All the staff are volunteers and very passionate about their work. One of the volunteers drives all all the way from Seattle just for the experience of volunteering.There were signs for most of the drive but the side road to turn off into the advocacy center was not clearly marked, or I just missed it.Highly recommend going. Follow the rules of the park to ensure everyone has a good time. Enjoy!

Go here. The landscaping is beautiful and the cats are happy. My brother and I decided to go here on the anniversary of the day our older brother passed away. We decided being around wild cats would help us feel close to him - he loved animals. We chose the 'wild cat dinner time visit' for $50/person. I felt my experience was priceless! Jolie was our brilliant, compassionate tour guide. She knew the story of each animal and what every animal needed. The cats were SO active! They were pressing themselves against the fence, 3 feet from me! I heard the Cougar, Harley, purr and wanted to cry it was so beautiful. I learned that caracals can jump over 10 feet to catch prey. I was able to see the facial markings of a beautiful bengal tiger from 2 feet away (behind a fence of course). The animals and volunteers create an inspiring environment.No pictures allowed, so buy the USB drive with beautiful pre-loaded pictures (absolutely worth the $20 donation to this place).THIS WAS AMAZING! Thank you to Jolie, the wild cats, and the staff.

A lovely place, that’s both interesting and rewarding to visit. The sanctuary provided for these stunning cats is a pleasure to experience. We had a really nice tour with Jolie, one of the volunteers, and she clearly cared for the cats greatly. We felt welcome, and unrushed, and Jolie was very engaged. The cats were enjoying the sun, so not lively, but that did not matter at all. Admiring their power, beauty, and grace, and the work done here to keep them safe, was easy. This is a trip worth making, and an organisation that deserves support.

I really like the seats, and the way they have their popcorn and drink area. Also, its really convenient to be able to go to the Uptown Lounge (that is sharing the building) for lunch or dinner before the movie.

This is another hidden gym in this little village of Yelm. Great movies, comfortable, seating, clean restrooms, and very polite staff. The whole experience for dinner and movies is an amazing one. They have a restaurant next-door called uptown lounge. You can also get dinner and movies for two for $30 if you have the coupon, we really enjoy ourselves on date night when we go out to the movies the surround sound system is excellent

Our visit here was long overdue. The staff tonight were excellent: helpful and kind. The theater itself was well appointed with their cushioned recliners and ample space to spread out. The bathrooms were all tidy. There were many options for food and drink too. Yelm is lucky to have this establishment in town.

My husband and I haven't been to a movie since covid. We were so impressed we intend to go back next week. The price on Wednesday's is great. The seats are so comfortable that you could fall asleep. The staff are friendly and helpful. This makes for a great date night.

The best movie theater I've ever been to. Now I haven't been to many, but when I and my family moved to Yelm it was a semi frequent discussion how glad we are to have a great theater. Service is always great. Concessions prices are.....less great, but kind of typical of movie theaters. BIG fan of the freestyle soda machine so it's always worth the money to me. Bottomless popcorn. and the best part is two people can go see a movie for under 20 dollars (Concessions not counted.)I lied, the actual best part is the atmosphere. This is the kind of movie theater they put in movies. It's beautiful and oozes a love of cinema and every time reminds me why it's worth it to go to the theater at all.

Very comfy. Popcorn is fresh! Place was clean. Screen was clear, sound quality good. Plenty of parking. The extra drive is worth it for us. Made a great date night. The theater seat are big and plush recliners. I'm a big guy, normally my hip always hits the recliner buttons, but these were big enough to not have that problem!! This is my theater of choice for the area.

My wife and I have been to the Yelm Cinema at least four times (maybe five), and have enjoyed it every time. Typically, the staff are made up of very hospitable and respectful young adults. The refreshments are plentiful and the place is always clean, including the bathrooms. The movie selection is good and the reclining seats are very comfortable. There's also a restaurant there, but we've never ate there so I can't rate it, but I'm sure the food is good.

I love going to the throwback movies. And the refills on popcorn is so helpful. My husband loves the seasonings, I judt like regular popcorn, so we can both get what we want!

Very nice theater, the staff were friendly, popcorn was good, the seating was great, power leather recliner, felt right at home, very clean. Definitely will be back to watch another movie. Oh, and they have a very nice restaurant.

Our mid-afternoon matinee was enjoyed by the whole family! The affordable tickets and small theater sizes with comfy electrical leather seats had the kids ready to sit back and relax with their bottomless popcorn and drinks! Can't wait to visit again to enjoy some libations and snacks in the Uptown Lounge, sans the kids. I can definitely say we are all looking forward to seeing our next movie there!

Went to see The Goonies at the Yelm theater and it was amazing! First time here and the staffing was so friendly and the manager at the time, superb! The theater was clean and the lazy boy chairs were super comfy! Definitely have to come back, they have a lounge. Thank you for making the date night wonderful!

Yelm Cinemas makes the other theaters in our neighboring cities look bad. It has all the perks of the bigger theater chains (picking seats online, reclining chairs, decent movie variety, updated aesthetic) with the perks of being locally-owned as well (clean, friendly staff, affordable prices). Being able to get $5 tickets on Wednesdays seems too good to be true, but it's not! We will never go to any other theater as long as we live here in Yelm.

Recliner seats, plenty of space to be comfortable in any matter. Connected to the Uptown Lounge restaurant, which is wonderful. Endless Sodas from the theatre, which offers the "make your own" flavors. Snacks and popcorn is reasonable. Absolute wonderful view of Mt Rainier from outside the theatre.

This is my favorite Movie Theater by far! The staff keep it very clean! Including keeping the parking lot clean as well! I am impressed with the youth who work there. They are always busy cleaning and keeping things beautiful. I feel safe kicking back in the recliners to watch a movie! And their prices are very reasonable. Especially in this day and age. The bathrooms are very clean! I highly recommend this adorable movie theater! Dinner at Uptown Lounge afterwards is a favorite treat! Their food and service is excellent! Chef's kiss for sure!

It was cool, comfy, nice. I have been here before this and everything went well this time was just a little different. We ended up being in theater 8 (6,7,8 are smaller than others i think)There was a blue dot on the screen the whole movie it was distracting but small so it wasn’t a big deal. But during the quieter parts of the movie I could hear what I think was cars from the theater next to us (it was very loud not too loud though) But we ran out of popcorn so I went to go get more and there was none left.We were there late (the movie started at 9:25pm) so I get it but they had none in the middle of the movie. It was not a fantastic experience but not terrible and I know this place is good so I gave it a3/5

Really comfortable seats, great sound quality. Concessions need updating, a lot of stale flavors. The movie was terrific, only one other couple there in the matinee.

Honestly, I would not go to any other local theater. Ticket prices are awesome and you get the reclining leather seats. I've loved it ever since it opened.

This place is a must-see for nature and wildlife lovers if you're in the area! It's very accessible as there are miles of gravel walking paths and boardwalks that take you right over the water. I arrived early on a Saturday and it was packed so be ready to search for parking if you arrive later in the day. People come and go though so it's not too bad. The day parking fee is $3 so be sure to bring some cash. The visitors center is very nice and informational. We saw a bald eagle, harbor seals, hooded mergansers, and a wide variety of waterfowl I've yet to identify. No worries if you don't have binoculars- they have some located throughout the refuge for you to view the wildlife. Highly recommend!!

Took the family here on a beautiful Sunday. It was an hour drive and totally worth it. My kid had a great time exploring the visitor center and there's a little park for younger ones. I walked the boardwalk and took photos of all the wildlife it had to offer in early summer. I saw Bald Eagles, lots of Heron and Tern, Cormorant, and plenty of smaller birds. I even saw a deer in the nearby field! Limited parking, and there is legitimately a chance that if you can't find parking you can't go in. Great fun in a beautiful area.

Spent a lovely three hours here. What an amazing and beautiful place to explore. We appreciated all of the signs along the way teaching about many of the animals at the refuge. This was definitely worth the $3.00 parking fee! We borrowed binoculars at the visitor center. The staff members were all so friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful treasure just outside Lacey/Olympia! We walked the boardwalks, enjoyed the birds chirping, and kept our eyes out for the various plants working on blooms. I’ll be back later in the spring to see the results—Overall, very family friendly and likely good for those whose physical conditions may prevent hiking on trails. It’s still gorgeous and a way to enjoy the outdoors.There is a fee to park if you don’t have an interagency pass (like the national parks annual pass). This is federal land, so a state pass won’t do.

The place is super green. It was dried when we got there. It's a wheelchair accessible with little graval. There's public restroom. Once you get to the brackish water, you will experience a nasty scent. There is a fee, It's $3 per person. The only 2 animals that got our attention were a small little green frog and the lonely seal. Parking was free.

Great place for taking a peaceful walk and bird-watching. Cost is very affordable (3 dollars per car). You can also use a national park pass. There are public restrooms and a drinking fountain. A gift shop is open seasonally.There are some trails near to the visitor center that follow deeper water and are mostly shaded. Near the barns, about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot, are picnic tables and outhouses. You can continue from there along the gravel path to the boardwalk that goes out into the tidal flats. Water levels will vary by the tide. I always see at least a few birds when I come, no matter the time of day!

Always a lovely place to be. Tons of wildlife, we see something new with every visit. Deer, frogs, seals, and an endless amount of seabirds.The staff in the visitors Center are lovely as well. They will lend you binoculars for your walk if you leave your ID with them - highly recommend! They also have a nice gift shop with local art and more.To walk the entire trail and boardwalk takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace.

Very clean peaceful place. Can get busy at times and not much parking. Very nice kid friendly area with recreational opportunities. After Covid I'm sure they'll do more interactive, educational activities. Beautiful scenery and they have done cool projects for the environment and animals.

Beautiful place for a nice long walk! Definitely won't be bored with the views! I would suggest bundling up good if you plan to go around the colder months as I was pretty cold. The squirrels are really nice, and one even touched my finger near the big double barns. Saw so many birds it was awesome. Saw this heron pictured, bald eagles, tons of ducks and other birds that I could not identify.

Our party of six arrived mid-morning on Friday, June 23. Parking was not a problem.We were a bit warm as we walked the boardwalk in the bright sunlight. The boardwalk is well maintained and wide enough to easily pass by other visitors.The tide was out during our visit, revealing thousands of little crabs in mud. We saw various birds along our walk and got to watch a group of 6 eagles soar above us.

I've been going to Nisqually for several years, starting back in 2011 when I first moved to WA and then again in 2020 when we came back. There's a decent amount of parking, less on the weekend, and the entrance fee is only $3 (free if you have a military ID or America the Beautiful pass). Small visitor's center with information about the refuge and a gift shop. Well maintained bathrooms. There's a boardwalk loop that goes through the woods around the marshes where you can see birds, deer, bugs, etc in addition to all kinds of plants. A much larger boardwalk goes out over the water where you can see eagles, crabs, seals, whatever. On a clear day, Rainier is visible in one direction and the Olympic Range to the other. Doing both boardwalks comes out to about 4 miles, all flat. Great place for kids, no dogs allowed. It poured on us during our recent visit but we still enjoyed it!

Fun park to explore! Nice folks at the visitor/gift center. Lots of different types of birds. Kid friendly. First part of trail was partially shaded. Accepted American the Beautiful pass. Also found out that you can purchase passes in the information center. Restrooms available near the parking lot. Open from sunrise to sunset.

Such a sacred place. Learn about its history, check out Billy Frank Jr.’s good work for the salmon and all of us people. He is a hero. I’m happy they named this spot after him. This is a sacred valley with a long history! Learn about the nisqually people and then come check out these trails to learn even more.

It was New Year’s Day, so it was pretty packed with people. A majority were bird watchers with cameras and binoculars. Others were families with children. Plenty of space and the trails were gravel or boardwalk. It was low tide and many different birds and fowl. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we managed. Just need some patience. Beautiful place.

A nice long nature walk. Definitely support the reserve gift shop! 🎁 Prepare for hiking! Bring a water, bandaid, and snack(please take your trash with you, don't litter.) Great place to walk with your kiddos. ⚠️ The wooden boardwalk gets VERY slippery when wet, so if you cannot balance or take your time, go on a dryer day.

Great place for a walk and for families with kids to see nature. So many different types of animals, eagles and other various types of birds, frogs, small snakes, etc... Depending on the time and day you go, parking can be difficult, so you might have to find a spot on the side of the road or in grassy areas of the parking lot. If you have kids, recommend to stop at the visitor center and get a pamphlet that engages kids to find various things and animals that can be found along the trail. The staff and volunteers are very kind, friendly, and helpful.

Such a spectacular place! So easy to walk on the trails and boardwalks. It's flat and long. Easy to get a stride going.And then, the wildlife! So many different birds all year long. Walking over the water is so experiential!A must go if you haven't already. You can turn around at any time.

Lovely way to spend a day. So many duck and other bird species (saw owls, eagles and heron). Take care on the boardwalk, can be very slippery in spots during the rainy months. Walk is about 5 miles or so RT and parking can fill up on a decent day. FYI, waterfowl hunting is allowed certain months of the year incase the echoing of gunshots bothers you. Bring $3 cash for the day use fee.

Spectacular national park! I came during the winter so couldn’t observe the rich diversity of species here but still very interesting to see different types of birds and enjoy the wetlands. The bridge has a lots of signs about the animals here and also marked the land that was from a man who went bankrupt in 1910s and sold the land to US Wildlife.Highly recommend this park to everyone!

Don't expect your solar to work well here. Very dark but beautiful. Great long trail that runs right next to the entrance of park. Extra mossy and a beautiful little creek down the side of the Campground. No camp host or ranger, just one person for a few hours a day.

Beautiful park for entertainment and swimming for the little kids with parents watching sitting by the beach.Nice kitchen set up for family's fun with birthday party's entertainment. or any event you wanted to have scheduled by the park office.

It's a great place for a scenic view! It's pretty well kept. You can drop your boat here, and your kayak,or paddle board, or just swim! And you can have a BBQ. They also have free RV/Camper camping spots, just be sure you have a discover pass. We love it here.

I truly enjoyed everything about this park, including the drive to get to it. We went during the week after labor day, so we didn't have an issue with crowds. The walk in the park along Hood Canal was awesome, the sights were excellent. The park was clean, just really nice! Highly recommend..

Nice park with picnic shelters. We had my mom's memorial service here. It was beautiful.

The water looks aqua or turquoise color like in the Caribbean. This color is caused by a bloom of coccolithophores....It's not a common occurrence.3,167 feet of saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal.Unfortunately, there are some current and intermittent closures of the camp, day area, and boat launch. This is due to Road and other improvements - restoration projects. You need a discovery pass for the Day Use Parking lot. Check before visiting about possible closures.

We camped here for one night midweek. The campsites are practically on top of each other with no privacy. The campground was very noisy day and night even after quiet hours. The camp host was off duty every time we walked by. The campground needs a host and park rangers to better patrol and monitor the goings on. I do not recommend the campground and give it one star.I do recommend the beach for the three star review. This is a great park to come for the beach. The water is warm for swimming and very clear. Apparently, you can harvest for oysters right from the beach when in season.

I booked both campsite #38&36 and I am so glad I did. From reading the reviews I suspected that the campsite would be close to each other, and they were right. The campsite are indeed on top of each other, absolutely no privacy. Being so close to the road doesn't help either, constant road noise. These campsites in general are small with tight turns and large trees to make manuvering challenge. My 5th wheel is 34ft long, I barely fit in site#36 which is a pull thru. Access to the beach is a simple crossing of the road. Had awesome day digging manila clams. The 2 mile hike that loops behind the campsite park is beautiful and easy - my 6 year daughter did the whole hike. I would not bring any Rig longer than 35ft... It's just hard to turn and fit into places, I had a few close calls with low hanging branches and roots sticking out of the side of the road.

The camp ground shares a lot of trees along with the creek that runs along side several of the camp sites. The state park has several buildings that can be reserved for large parties like reunions and bday parties. We happen to be there on mother's day! It was a sunny warm day and the park was filled with happiness, BBQ, Frisbee players, the soccer ball was being kicked around too. 😀 This little gem of a State Park is wonderfully charming! 💖

Amazing place to camp/visit. My BF & I took our infant son on his first camping trip. This place was so cool, BUT the campsites are very crammed in there & extremely way to close to each other, We did enjoy the hook-ups! Hiking trails were close by & the forest has some incredible trees & plants. The beautiful beach was across the street, but very rocky. We would definitely camp there again.

Current you must park outside the normal parking area and walk into the park. I believe this is a winter closure for cars only as the building appear closed.Stunning area, cut trees, water level is current very low. If you walk towards the water … you will get muddy. Dogs had a blast.

I’ve been coming to Alder Lake Park for many many years, way before I ever had kids lol, It’s a great little spot to put a kayak, canoe, or boat in the water, located in a conveniently hidden little cove. I short trip from Tacoma. Just a couple miles to Elbe, for gas, snacks, pizza, ice cream or a burger, and the Mt. Rainier entrance is only about 20 minutes away.

Big park! 161 acres. Clean, modern, and convenient. Accomodations from tents to large RVs. Multiple recreational area and boat launchs. Great place to stay and spend the day at Paradise.

Beautiful lake. The water is turquoise and calm. Great place to kayak or fish. Can camp here or just have a picnic. When it is warm out, there is also a swimming area and beach.

Great swim area. There are lots of picnic tables in the shade. Lawn with shade, sand, and beach no shade. Lake is a swimable warm temperature for hours on end. Kids and adults alike having fun.

My favorite things about Alder Lake? First, the dock. Where else can you camp and have a free place to moor your boat? I left my jet ski in the water for three days. The dock is high quality, nice and wide, with built-in fenders. You can fish off the dock too. I saw people catch Kokanee and rainbow trout. Second, I loved the close-up view of Mt. Rainier. I loved coming around the tip of an island on the jet ski and seeing the mountain burst into view. Wow. Third, I loved the aqua (turquoise?) color of the water. Fourth, the bathrooms were very well stocked and very clean. It kinda sucked that you had to pay for showers though. I just said "screw it" and stayed dirty. Other things I liked were the low prices for campsites, the relative ease of reserving a site, the well-maintained boat launch, the safe swimming area, the dish washing stations (covered with sinks), the many islands and arms of the lake to explore, cliff jumping ... as you can see, Alder Lake is, well, pretty cool.

It was a gorgeous day, so glad we went. There's picnic tables, grills, a park, clean and attended bathrooms with handicap stalls.

Alder Lake has been our favorite boating/swimming/kayaking for 20 years! The City of Tacoma maintains it beautifully. My only complaint was the poor redesign of the parking striping in the lower lot which is awkward and counterclockwise for trucks with boat trailers.

Love the location! Day park access only during summer season is $10 per vehicle. A few handicap spots and regular parking fills up fast so make sure you get there early! Easy lake access for kayaks and paddle boards with designated swimming area but no lifeguard on duty. Nice open field area to play catch or football. No grills available for use so you must bring your own.

Attention Tourists: stay clear of here. It’s not worth your time. Repeat: it’s not worth it in its current state. What a disappointment. There was broken glass everywhere too. The lake is so far down. It’s a muddy mess and my son got stuck. It was full of locals (nothing wrong with that). The best part of this was the flushing toilets and bear prints (no live bears seen).

We really enjoyed camping here. There's a ton to do to keep the kids happy and busy. The campground area is very well maintained. There is so much to explore around the area.What makes this place not earn 5 stars is that the $15 per vehicle charge (besides the tow rig,) is pretty steep. I've never been to a campground where they charged that much for a second vehicle, if at all. We had a group site that was $375 for 5 rv hookup spots, so I think the extra charge for my friends car was crazy.Also, the beach area at the lake is not very well maintained. I always remember the beach being pretty debris free when I was younger so was surprised there was so much stuff in the sand area. My kids couldn't run around without shoes on very easy.We also tried to reserve the shelter/kitchen thing, as it states, is available on the website. When my cousin called to do so, he was told there wasn't one there. There is and it was right behind our group site, so it would have been great to be able to use it because the lady on the phone seemed to not be familiar with the park.

Very beautiful lake/park. You can walk to the other island when the water is at low level. Very unique place to see tree trunks under water. There is plenty of parkings plus restroom. It also has designated swimming area. Highly recommend.

A good place for a short easy hike by the lake front. The trails are narrow but we'll groomed. This spot can become busy, but there are two different areas to park.

Beautiful lake with a great sunset view. Not too far off 7. 2 nice, hot showers, 25 cents per 6 minutes. The restrooms were locked by an employee just after sunset. There were a few families from the campground hanging out and playing by the shore. Nice little park.

We went on the cider tour and it was great! It was a beautiful ride both to and from the museum. We had first class tickets and were able to experience some cider tastings on board!The gluten free food options and the quality of the food was not the best. But the museum, train ride, and cider more than made up for it. Plus they sell snacks at the museum!

Sadly this was closed when we decided to visit, it was still nice to check it out.

I had an absolutely wonderful time here! My husband and I rode a train pulled by a steam locomotive from Elbe, Washington to the logging museum in Mineral, Washington, where we learned all about the history of logging. Oh, and not to mention seeing some beautiful views!I would definitely go with first-class again. It's well worth $54 per ticket. They'll give you snacks, drinks, alcohol, and a really nice water bottle. I might also mention that all the cars are air conditioned and heated.

It was amazing trip! Not too long, pretty comfortable, absolutely enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Fun train ride. Great, friendly staff. We went on Peanuts and the Great Pumpkin day because it fit our schedule and we weren't interested in wine day. Only critisizim is the train should have slowed considerably at the one brief opportunity to view Mt Ranier. No opinion on the food because we brought our lunch. A fun day and we had perfect sunny weather. Nice museum.

Really nice place to hold a private event. In the town of Mineral, the only way in is the Mt Rainier Steam Railway. Event content and age can be controlled. We did Oktoberfest and no one under 21 was allowed to attend. Even with attendees policing themselves, staff was on top of checking ID and making sure everyone having the beer was supposed to be there and safe. There is a really scenic event ground at the town that you need to go through the rolling stock to get to. There are several Ales to Rails events per year as well as a Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Ride and a Polar Express at Christmas. All are well worth the trip for the age appropriate audience.

Definitely a good time wonderful workout as well, staff are fun and friendly and they tell funny jokes.

My boyfriend and I rode a locomotive steam in Elbe, Wa. for his birthday. We had the best time. So much fun, staff is friendly and fun, and lots of beautiful sights.Highly recommend 12/10

We took the scenic whiskey train, it was a blast. While the whiskey was ok, the experience was a lot of fun! The ride is a great short trip and the venue was nice. The live band was pretty good and the service was very good! Definitely recommend this trip! They also have family friendly trips too!

Easter train ride. A boxed brunch (a nice variety of foods) and a beautiful train trip through the woods and farm lands to Mineral and back to Elbe. Spend some time in the open air car to get the full experience of being on a steam train with the whistle blowing!!

Had a great time. They are coming back after the pandemic so the train are not fully restored but I was comfortable and enjoyed the ride. Great activity to do with the whole family. Can't wait for the museum to open up.

We rode the Holiday Timber Train. It was a fun, festive 75 minute ride to Mineral and back. With clear skies you could see Rainier at the river crossing which was great. You’re able to move between cars and look over the half doors which is a cool feeling. The individual windows on the train open as well. Very popular with kids who all having a great time.

Great experience with family. My son is autistic and he enjoyed the trip.

Amazing experience. Each and every person was super friendly and they even waited extra few minutes for one of the group. You can see my rainier, river, horses, etc. A must visit if you have kids and you are near by.

Loved it! It was my son 3rd birthday the day we were there! It was mid week and we were there shortly after the park opened. Everything was amazing and we had a blast! The children's playground was pretty magical with a little creek running through and plenty of places to climb! We did the drive tour as well and got to see even more animals! We will definitely be going there much more often now!

Our family had a great time on our Mother's Day visit! We did the drive through adventure and got to see several animals along the way. The tour guide was really informative and made the drive really enjoyable. The park was fun too. It was a really hot day, but there was plenty of shade to keep us cool. Lots of animals out and about, our kids really likes the bear exhibits the best. Only bummer of the day was the Kid Zone didn't have the water feature on, which would have been nice on the hot day. Otherwise, an overall fun day and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Great for family and especially KIDS. I had a blast as a solo traveler. I went to attend the "wild drive" driving tour. This tour was great. Saw all 7 wild animals they had to display. This tour is great if you have an amazing zoom in camera because some animals are really far. One thing i wish is we could've stop our car to take good steady pictures. On the tour you always moving around 5 mph. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and throw a few jokes in. Ill def come back again.

Great way to spend the day. Make sure you plan to go earlier in the day because you're ticket will include both a driving tour (about an hour) and walking around the park for your entire car (around 8 people i believe). The trek around had one steep incline but had greatly placed benches all around the park. Not sure this place would be that fun for younger kids as many of the animals are harder to spot, but my 11 year old enjoyed it.

We went April 9th with our 2 boys 3 and 6. we did the 10 am wild tour. The girl that did our drive was amazing. She knew so much info. She talks the whole drive about how it started and about all the animals. I loved her. Then we went inside and did the whole tour inside. 10/10 for sure and will go back. I recommend if you go to go early spring or late fall when it cools down so you see more animals. Its a better cost to pay the $90 that gets up to 8 people in for the tour and the entire park.

Very relaxed visit as there were no crowds. We saw a few animals on the driving tour but not real close. Walking through the shady paths was nice on this 80 degree day but apparently animals are more visible on cooler days. The 6 year old in our group didn't have any trouble walking through the park and enjoyed Child Trek, a kids play area, complete with a small stream to walk in, barefoot of course. Benches available for watching adults in sun and shade.

We did the Wildlife Trek and the zoo/park area on our visit with my mom, my 6 year old, my husband, and myself. Each of us absolutely LOVED it! Somehow we went on a day where almost every single animal was out and active (first rainy day in awhile, if that helps)! The animals were so cool and the trek was absolutely worth it! - Things to Know: •For the trek, buy tickets in advance and show up a tad bit early! Plan your drive accordingly with traffic and possibly road work (which we ran into). •Parking is free for the zoo/park area. •Bring comfy shoes if you do the zoo part as it's quite a walk (but absolutely gorgeous). •If you do the trek, tune into the radio station they tell you to. Lots of info and lots of directions for keeping you and the animals safe. •Look ALL around on the trek! We saw animals everywhere, not just the main focus ones being talked about at the time. •Give yourself time! If you do the trek and the zoo, give yourself time for it all. •Be prepared to see some cool animals! A lot of the animals were "up close" than I've seen at other zoos. •Go into the buildings that are there/open (wolf viewing, kids area, etc.). •Plan out bathrooms (they're all over, but also spaced out). •Be careful where you stop under the Bald Eagle area (bird poop and all that). •There is a bear viewing platform that is amazing! •The cafe is small but good! •The kids park area is pretty big, but super fun!

The ride along (car train tour) is So worth the price, and it INCLUDES getting to go into the zoo itself! This place FOCUSES on conservation, and better relationships with the land we live in and the animals we share this land with! Please please please consider coming here! It's so cool and informative!!!(I ended up with So So So many videos and pictures of all kinds of creatures, but I think what is super important is to show all the plaques and signs in the zoo, they're educational about the plants, the woods we live in and the different habitats and education on the animals they have there!)Our lead for our driving tour, I cannot remember his name right now, but he was SO SO GOOD! 🙏🏽🧡He said he used to visit this zoo/park when he was a child and now he works there, educating on the animals and the land, and he said it felt like he's gone full circle. And I Love that. Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge, we WILL be coming back again!

Did the driving tour, and it was enjoyable. Saw almost everything but 1 species of animal. The moose were "babies" but still gigantic. Hard to take photos as you can't stop. Pricey for just 2 people in the car. You can have up to 6 but it's the same price regardless.Afterwards, went inside and walked around. Most of the animals were out.The 2 black bears got into a little scuffle when the little one was drinking the water, walking back to the other side. The big one then chased the little one off after.

Love being able to see local nature. The kids area is awesome now. So much to climb on and slide down. The kids had a blast and all but 1 animal was open out in plain sight. Such beautiful creatures!

We are season pass holders for NWT and have been for two years. We definitely get our money's worth. We go 2-3 times a month. It's a nice change of pace for walks. The play area is a highlight too! I recommend allotting time for the kids to play there! All of the animals are so well taken care of. They do enrichment and extraordinary enclosure maintenance for the animals.The tram still isn't open which is a major bummer, but they will give you a free ticket for when the tram is open if you ask about it. The new electric tram is scheduled to open Spring 2023. ☺️

This truly is a great experience but I was very disappointed that we could not take the bus ride around the park to see the Bison and Elk, etc. That's the main and best part in my opinion and it's currently halted until some electric bus thing is installed.They should have some way to still do this until the electric bus is installed.Outside of that, it was a nice trip. Most of the animals were out. The cats were still sleeping though. We went from 10am to 1pm. Kids really enjoyed the play area and the food is no badly priced.

This is a great experience and in a beautiful setting in the shadow of Mt. Rainer. I hadn't been here in several years (10+) and I was happy to see it was just as good. Like any drive through wildlife park where the animals are free to roam, what you see is hit or miss because the critters are free to do as they want. We did manage to see a lot of elk, some deer, a few bison, and a couple sheep (the last two weren't even spotted by the guide).The walking exhibits are also good to see and while still in a very natural setting, are more visible than those in the driving area. It's a great experience for kids and adults alike. It's about a 3.5 hour drive for us, so we likely won't be back for another 10 years or so, but still highly recommend it (it's worth the trip at least once).

We paid $90 for the driving tour. It was a little underwhelming, but cool to see the animals right there. I got to take some nice pictures of the animals during the ride. Having the radio tuned to the host was really good, she gave a lot of good information during the trip, but maybe next time she should get more sleep. I have never heard a presenter yawn so much before...anyway, I found out that $90 also gave us entry into the zoo. This was a nice surprise and made it worth the $90-to do both things. The zoo part has the animals I looked forward to seeing as well. Just remember, the animals like to take naps as well! Sucks to see the wolf sound asleep but he/she needs his rest. I wish the areas the animals are kept in were bigger, but I guess that is the best that can be done.The staff is very friendly and I am glad we stumbled on this place while out driving. Not sure if I will go back, but it doesn't hurt to see this place at least once. The staff I interacted with seem to really care about their jobs and sharing their animal knowledge with us.

First time I've been back in about 15 years. Honestly, I don't love seeing caged animals, but the animals at NWT are either being rescued, restored, or protected, which makes it much easier to enjoy paying to view them. The only animal we didn't get to actually see was the Wolverine. We will definitely be going back. We walked through the animal park area and then did the Wild Drive. Great place for families!

It is beautiful! The sights themselves are amazing and even better with the animals! The tram is wonderful. You get to ride around and look at elk, moose, bison, and more! Then you get off the 5 you get to see the bear, wolves, cougar, bobcat, lynx, and so much more it's an amazing experience and an amazing place to visit!

The zoo was amazing. Do note that it is a small zoo, so if you go, keep that in mind. But the exhibits give you a great view of the animals and the staff are amazing.I did the drive-thru tour where you drive your own car. It was $110 for my car, which at first I thought was a little expensive. But then I learned that includes allowing ALL people in your car to enter the walking part as well.I was very happy and felt it was worth it for the family to enjoy the day at the zoo!

Purchased the combo household membership so we can visit this zoo plus the point defiance zoo unlimited for a year! They do offer 10% military discount but you must buy in person. Credit and cash only, no tap to pay.Took the jeep tour and it was amazing. Lots of information and saw so many close encounters.Would highly recommend!

This was a great experience. 6 out of 7 species on the drive and a cool walk around the habitats to see predators and small animals. The lead car/tour guide was very cheery and kept the caravan involved. Will go gain.

I love coming here. It's smaller than Point Defiance, but still has a good amount of animals. There are a lot of beautiful trees, flowers, and other plants.The walkways are mostly shaded, so it doesn't get too hot or risk sun burns. There's a great play area for kids when they're done looking at the animals. We only had the fries and ice cream, both were good.

We had a lot of fun here. There's so much to see and learn about. My 6 and 9 year old even enjoyed it. The property is so beautiful and we intend on coming back to do the special tour soon! There are so many unique vehicles. The building with the cars through the years was amazing.

Admir this collection that LeMay family set up, two stations and the main charges 15 and the other 5 which I recommend you go both! Huge amount of cars here and all been maintained in very good condition.Should be same as the one in Tacoma DT or even better, if you are crazy about vintage cars here is the one you could spend a whole afternoon.

It is an absolute MUST-SEE, and I am in awe! What I thought would be "just a car museum visit" turned out to be a fascinating experience that I would recommend to everyone! History is lived right in front of your eyes. The exhibitions at the location we went to (not by Tacoma Dome) are just gorgeous!

Bought tickets on Groupon so entrance fee was $16 for 2adults and 2 kids. 5 and under is free. This is a separate location for the Lemay Collection. The other is near the Tacoma dome. This location was not crowded at all. Beautiful cars. They have a guided tour available and more areas to browse through for an additional cost. My family easily spent 2 hrs just enjoying and appreciating another car enthusiast.

You may've heard of America's Car Museum in Tacoma. Forget about it. THIS is THE BEST car museum you WILL EVER find. Even those not interested in cars will surely see something that will catch their eye!Every car in this collection is stunning and nearly flawless, compared to the chipped up specimens in the Tacoma museum. They are accompanied by period antiques and collectibles. This is a REAL museum. Worth the money. Take the full tour. There are over 400 cars in this collection. And every one is BEAUTIFUL.

The green building (Union Station) is absolutely worth the add-on price! Beautiful vehicles in chronological order so you can see the evolution of the automobile right before your eyes. You can really get up close to them and peak inside at the details. The main building was good too, as was the Museum in Tacoma, but the green building showroom is really where the most interesting stuff is at.

This is an absolutely gonzo car collection and a delight.There is a natural comparison to the other car museum in Tacoma which is a bit more polished, while the LeMay Collections at Marymount is a bit more punk rock.The presentation is also a hoot, being in the middle of a high-school gym with cars up in the bleachers is a wild presentation choice.They have an optional extra building that has a chronological sequence of cars going from the early 1900s to the 2010s.My son, my mom, and I all loved it!

The most wonderful collection of cars trucks motorcycles and way more with paraphernalia associated with each time era. The docents take you on a tour if you like and are wonderfully knowledgeable. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon and get exercise walking around. The grounds are really pretty and the price just can't be beat! Especially if you get the Groupon.

This place was amazing. We only did the main building. We now wished we did all three. The first building you walk around your self then the last two the guys tell you about the cars inside those buildings. The main building took me and my husband about an hour to walk and enjoy it all. We really loved all the antiques, signs, boat motors and all the cars. Great history and well worth the money. Was 15 to enter but my husband military so we got our tickets 12 each. Very friendly people. Take your time and enjoy. Beautiful landscape to walk around.

Great place to bring the kids and husband. Not so crowded and fancy as the different location, but you will have the same quality of enjoyment here for sure. Don't forget to walk outside, to check some extra cars at the territory.

This is a fun park located at the peninsula in Tacoma! It has a fort, science & math museum, zoo & aquarium, a little Japanese garden and a beach!The Japanese garden could’ve used some love and care; Owen beach is almost ready(it has been closed for renovations)! And such lovely woods to walk around and lose yourself in the green! I also loved that a huge part of the five mile drive is closed over the weekend to allow for foot traffic and bikes. The park has plenty parking spots!If you’re in Tacoma, do check this park out!

Beautiful park. So many trails to explore, plus the beach if that is your preference. The dog park is a great spot to let the dog off leash in between exploring the trails. Only down side is that it is not fully fenced, so may not be a good spot for those little escape artists.

I love Owen Beach Park. Since we had a shorter than anticipated visit at the zoo. We stopped to enjoy the wonderful and diverse offerings of the park. We walked across the bridge and enjoyed the slides, a marvelous addition. The duck pond is always a highlight for me as well and the restrooms are well maintained.

A wonderful place to dress up and take photos. Plenty to do, plenty to see. I would recommend this place to anyone, locals and visitors alike. Unlike many places in Tacoma, this place has an aura of cleanliness and refinement. Somewhere that you can take a picnic basket and dress well for a weekend out with the family like one would see almost 100 years ago. Check out the flower garden, ladies can get their rose and flower fix there while wondering about. There are nearly domesticated deer that wander about all over the park so keep a wary eye out for them. All this culminates to the beachfront area where you can relax in the sun with the water lapping at your feet. During low tide, you could walk along the shore and explore some of the caves and sea shelves that can be found along the coast. Lastly, the renovations they have made were very tasteful and make the whole experience that much better.

A beautiful place! Well laid out with the right amount of animals and marine life. Great for families! Bring a picnic lunch. The tigers are mesmerizing.

So far its my favorite zoo. Only been to 3 others but our favorite was the pacific aquarium they have. I wish we could of seen the other aquarium they had but they're renovating it so it's closed for the time being. Parking is free! Alot of walking. Also I'm not a fan of shows at parks but there's was cool and engaging! They also had so many freaking bathrooms lol also loved the landscaping having heavy pollinator friendly plants. We also loved the goat feeding station.

Fantastic flower gardens, Asian inspired pond, very nice ponds for waterfowl, large grounds for walking or sitting in the sun without being crowded. Adjoined zoo just around the corner, nature trails, beach access. Very nice park.

Beautiful place to visit. A few people were having their pictures done here. So nice to see so many beautiful flowers in different stages of growth and colors. The layout was really easy to walk through. Such a lovely space. There were four deer when I was leaving and they were close to traffic, but people got some pictures. Such a delight. Definitely a must for nature lovers and people who love flowers.

Very spacious park. It has a beautifully maintained garden area. There are no flowers as of now, but I am sure it will be breathtaking when spring comes. Variety of flora is impressive and unique. There was this huge tree that I instantly fell in love with. Also I was surprised to find out that there are two historical buildings located in this park. One of which used to be a residential house, and another one used to be a train station more than 100 years ago.I am definitely coming back. Walking there felt super refreshing 💖

My Hands Down Favorite Park! Owens Beach is Gorgeous Great Family/Pet Friendly Forest Beach access, Nature walk trails, 5 mile Loop Drive view points are a must see! Off leash Dog Park, Big and Spacious. Great place for Bike Riding, Skating, Jogging and Walking, Wildlife often see, deer families and raccoons.

This area was beautiful! There were multiple trails to choose from and most of them were fairly long so you could go for a long walk or just part of the trail for a short one. The scenery is so pretty - everything is green and mossy. There were trail map signs as you entered a trail from the road. Beautiful trails that we enjoyed wandering around on.

So I've lived here this day for several years I've never gone to the zoo before because I don't believe in zoos I think they're cruel and unusual punishment to these animals I saw a few animals that looked really sad but overall the park was actually pretty cool wasn't what I thought it was going to be so I'll probably go back the sad part is the elephant that's all by yourself it's a sad story I wish she had someone to be with her cuz my animals are not supposed to be alone there look like a couple that were alone..the parking is horrible on the weekends but we were lucky to get a front row spot .. the park was clean n staff were friendly and eager to talk to anyone about the animals. So too be fair I have to give the Zoo a overall great rating... Great job you guys. You didn't make me sad to be there... Thank you.

My daughter recommended this park for me and her 2 brothers. We kayaked in the bay one day and ran a 5k that finished here the next. Would definitely go again and explore what we missed.

So beautiful during August. The roses are currently in full bloom and so gorgeous. We love all the fun creatures we get to see.Yesterday, we saw a few turtles, some deer, geese, pond fish, and heard the monkeys going crazy at the zoo.

This is the coolest park. It has a ton of amazing hiking trails. The beach area is so huge with lots of stuff for the kids to do. The mountain bike trails are insane. I wish I could have seen someone riding them. It's hard to describe how nice it is, so just check it out for yourself.

I'll add more to this later but without a doubt you need to go it's a spectacular park right in the ocean with old growth rainforest I sorts of historic stuff because you're nearby housing restaurants and great places to walk even after hours in the dark along the ocean it seems well that is beautiful. If you have a about 2 hours free for a mosey—this is the place. Gorgeous flowers. I was shocked there were a few Sequoias!! I’m originally from the east coast so give me a massive tree to marvel at and I’m one happy lady.

This place is amazing, very breath taken from any view possible. You are surrounded by ocean, and trees...you get to see bald eagles, seals, and many other animals. It is very easy to walk around with kids and seniors. It is an experience for sure!!

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium had a good amount of animals and exhibits. We spent about 3 hours here and our favorite attractions were the polar bears (arctic) and puffins (rocky shore). Would recommend PACKING FOOD! Your bags are not checked for outside food and drinks and the options inside the zoo are terrible. We came on a Friday afternoon and had no problem with the amount of people or waiting to see exhibits. Buying tickets online will get you a $3 discount. The zoo was a great experience and definitely worth the money!

The zoo in Tacoma is always a fun place to visit. All the animals were very active when we went this time around, although they aren't always. The keeper chats were super informative about the animals they have, and they are all very well taken care of. The smaller aquarium is currently closed for renovation and will open in spring 2024, but the main aquarium is still open. The Wild Wonders show was absolutely amazing for both kids and adults! You can also feed the birds for 2 bucks it was a fun experience, especially for the littles!

We had a blast at the zoo! They have so many cool animals to see and you can tell that they're well taken care of. The Red Wolf exhibit was especially eye-opening. There's also at least two areas designated for little ones to play and explore!The aquarium is also so cool. It's like it's own little world inside the zoo! They have a massive tank with sharks, rays, and turtles that you can see from the top as well as the bottom. They also have touch pools where you can touch anemones, sea cucumbers, abalone, and a number of other tide pool critters.Buy your tickets in advance on their website! They're $3 cheaper compared to buying them at the door. Also, get there early! We arrived an hour after opening and there was plenty of parking and no wait to get in. When we left that afternoon, the parking lot was overfilled and there was a massive line at the entrance.

Overall it was a lovely experience, though the crowds were a bit much, it was to expected over spring break. The gift shop had decent prices, and the staff was very nice and informative. It is clear all the animals are very well cared for. The only downside is that one of the aquariums is closed for renovation. I would have loved to see it, but what we did see was wonderful.

The aquarium here was really good! We only went into one. The other was closed. The hammer head sharks were super cool. My favorite was the jellyfish! They have a little show they play at noon, and it was actually pretty cute. Some of the animals didn't do their part correctly, but I think that made it so much better. Do see the animals act as animals. It was cute. My kids really enjoyed the day there today.

We got the membership. It’s a very nice park. Can’t wait to keep exploring it. I have a one year old and the zoo has a very nice playground for toddlers. The food at the zoo, at least the pizza, was odd. But the place is very nice can’t wait to go back. We missed a bunch of the exhibits.

$25/adult entry fee. This is a fun little zoo packed with exhibits. PHOTOGRAPHERS: this is a great place for photos because of all the clear exhibit walls (instead of chain link fences). I definitely recommend visiting! They have some very interesting animals, like polar bears, arctic foxes, manatees, and active monkeys!

I love this spot! It was also one of my mother's favorite spots. I took her once or twice every summer before she passed. She had a special love for the sea otters and loved the area set aside for the children, especially the meerkats and the petting section. The zoo will always hold a special place in my heart!The animal handlers are always helpful in answering questions and it's clear that they truly care about the animals. There's a nice gift shop near the entrance as well.

So much fun! Great zoo, my children absolutely loved it. The animals were right up close, aquarium was a little crowded. But I would gladly go back. The workers were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, I'd recommend this park to anyone. The tigers and polar bears were our favorites. Very clean, lots of shade. I'm not sure if you can bring a picnic but it would be a great idea. ❤️

Lots of places for kids to play.Cheaper to buy tickets online.The puffins are honestly the best part of the zoo. The zoo is smaller than Woodland, but has a lot of up close cool animal windows, like with polar bears, otters, tigers, etc. easy walk for kids. Cafe was delicious but very expensive. Also it's penguin nesting season, very exciting :)The keeper at the puffins habitat today wasn't very friendly.

It was a good little zoo. Not overly big. Walkable In about 3 hours. The keeper talks are interesting. Some exhibits are closed for renovation. Animals are mostly limited to marine wild life and some asian. This is not the San Diego Zoo, it’s also not trying to be and as such is a great addition to point defiance park!

This is a beautiful little zoo and aquarium. It sits in a very large park beside the sound. There is free parking. They are both very popular and for good reasons. The zoo and aquarium had a few attractions that were closed the day we were there. They were working on adding a new attractions and fixing some. There was still a lot to enjoy. I won't go into specifics for there is to much for me to tell. But if you enjoy beautiful animals and being able to interact with them and their staff friends, this is a great place to plan a trip to. They do offer zoo memberships that can save you money throughout the year and enjoy other benefits. Look into there website.

The polar bears! Worth going just to see them play together. The twin sister polar bears are very cute and playful. We saw them playing in the water together and it was quite adorable.The zoo is fairly small and you can complete it in 3 hours. They seem to rotate some of the animals as well so you might not see all the animals that they have. The aquarium was a big hit for my 2 year old nephew. It also has a touch tank which is great for kids.There is another aquarium under construction that will open sometime in 2024.The tiger was beautiful and we were able to see her up close.There is only one Asian elephant at the zoo which made me feel sad for her since she seemed a bit bored and so I wish they had a companion for her.Overall a nice way to spend the afternoon here. And not a very expensive entry ticket.

Visited during opening hours to beat the crowds. It was also forecasted to rain, so an umbrella (or more) is recommended. The parking lot started filling up quickly after a few hours. Once inside, staff were at a lot of the exhibits talking about the animals on display. Overall, it is a good place to spend half a day.

The zoo was moderately sized but there was barely any animals. Their aquarium section was pretty cool though. They also had a pretty interactive and entertaining show. I could tell they worked very hard to put everything together, train the animals, and make the props for their wizard ? Themed show.We ate at the cafe there and it was an typical zoo cafe. Unimpressive yet acceptable. There definitely was not enough seating and the eating area (floor and tables) was incredibly filthy.The worst part was the every dippin' dots cart was empty

Not the biggest zoo we've ever been to but well kept with fun shows throughout the day. Free parking lot on-site, spots were filling up fast so maybe don't skip an open spot hoping for a better one. Strollers and wagons allowed, along with food and snacks. Plenty of picnic tables and spaces for lunch inside. Nice kids area with playground, toys, slides, and petting zoo area that kept the little ones busy in between animal viewing.

We went for Zoo lights, and this has become a family tradition for my family. It's a nice way to get out and get some fresh air and may e a light up necklace or gloves and feel like a kid again. The lights are beautiful, and they had added more this year. I highly recommend this funight and so will you. My children are grown but they love it too. And so do my grandchildren. We have added this to our Christmas each year.

This zoo and aquarium is really charming and fantastic. There were several opportunities for our little one to learn about the animals, the keepers were out talking about their animals, and the animals were very easy to view. Both the human areas and animal habitats were clean and well-kept. It took about an hour for my family and toddler to walk leisurely through the exhibits. You could easily spend more time, though.

My 15 year old and I really enjoyed our afternoon at the zoo. He loved the monkeys, they gave us a pretty good acrobatics show. I enjoyed making friends with the octopus. The zookeepers were friendly, knowledgeable and easy to listen to. I enjoyed learning about Suki the Diva elephant, listening to the red wolves howl (rare apparently), and the tiger roar. Looking forward to going back once the new aquarium is open.

Had a great day exploring and learning about different animals! Although a few of the exhibits were down it was still a fun time.We absolutely loved the whimsical little garden area! Kid zone is always a good time for my tot, and the octopus was out in the aquarium!My only negative is that the "feed the birds" "budgie buddies" is always down. Not sure if it will ever come back but that was my favorite part always.

We lucked out on a small unpaved lot across from lot C.Weather was very nice in the 60s when we went in spring and most of the animals were active and the cherry blossoms were in bloom. Had a wonderful experience. Really friendly and knowledgeable employees from the front desk to the animal keepers. Wonderful animals. The whole zoo is just really Well done. At any point if I had concerns about the animals, I would see that there was an extension of the enclosure, or there was some sort of plaque. Like the explaining how the elephant has free roam and free choice of its care and whereabouts. A different guest even came up to the elephant enclosure and remarked that it was sad, but because I had read on the plaque that the elephant can choose to go in the enclosure area, or in the habitat, and the elephant chooses when to go to the handlers for care rather than forced to do anything, She also relaxed.I actually didn’t go to the zoo for many years, any zoo, Because I was concerned about animal welfare. I did not want to see animals in small enclosures who seem miserable. but there were so many informational stations at this zoo about conservation and animal safety, and even a little excerpt about how to protect animals when you travel in terms of purchasing goods. I thought the animals all seemed very well taken care of and these people really seem to care.I purchased the combo yearly membership and can’t wait to go to Northwest trek. I remember going to Woodland Park zoo and it was kind of overwhelming and I felt bad for the animals, but I didn’t feel like that at this zoo. I totally had a moment with a puffin who was tracking my face, and it was so much fun. The animals seem content. I actually saw the entire zoo walking relatively quickly in about 90 minutes but I’m sure you could extend your visit to four hours at a leisurely pace, or with friends and family. I was alone. Looks like they’re opening a new tropical aquarium in the spring time which is exciting. I thought it was really nice. They blocked off the underwater viewing windows for walruses, because the walruses didn’t respond well to it. The fact they care about the animals’ level of anxiety speaks volumes.

If you love cars, history of cars, miss the beauty of car designs, you can spend a good amount of time here.Mostly old cars, some select new, mostly American but also includes some from other countries.Large, 6? (Don’t remember) floors of cars to get lost in. Stairs, elevators, ramps accessible on all floors. Nice and clean.Roped off but you can get fairly close to them.

There's nothing like this place other than maybe the Smithsonian but that's in Washington DC and this is the most amazing collection I have ever seen in one place, kept in tip top shape and curated well with rotating exhibits. The building and everybody on the team at LeMay really are dedicated to making this a special place. Also it's not just about the building and the exhibit inside in the collection it's also about the events that happen around the museum on the grass the fun weekend events that we participated in as a family. Thank you guys!

I’m sure this place has been reviewed 1 million times. And for good reason. Really a great car collection in the Pacific Northwest. Located near the Tacoma Dome at near downtown Tacoma off of I five. Easy to get to and well worth the admission fee on this visit they had a car collection review. Lots of classic little cars from the past. And present. As he traverse the four floors of this great collection, you walking past history the oldest car I saw in there was from 1902. A lot of these beauties brought back. Great memories of seeing some of these cars on the road back in the day. Certainly worth going to check out for yourself.

Very good collection of cars, went today with my family, you can easily spend 2 hours here. If you're passionate about cars, then you can spend more time. Prices are decent, $18 for adults, $10 for kids of age 6 and above, below 6 years is free. Has lot of parking spaces, however charging $5 for parking. If you want to spend time indoor, then you can definitely visit 1 time here.

Cool place. Worth the price of admission. I took my 5 year old. He makes so many cars because he has watched the Cars movies. Just about every car in that movie is found here. You go up and down ramps in the middle of the building and see cars throughout all of history. There’s a spot to color a picture of your own car as well as a pinewood derby track at the bottom. One of the other fun exhibits was half of a for mustang that you could turn the wheel. The kids loved it.

After living up the street some long before this building was built, I finally took some time and went and checked it out. Great exhibits of vehicles of all eras and styles. Great history and visual presentation of some vehicles you may have never seen or heard of. Plenty of things to spend a whole day looking at and something for everyone.

Wow! Wow! What an amazing collection of cars, trucks, scooters, and motorcycles. I was absolutely enthralled with the quality, variety, and exceptional presentation of four full floors of famous vehicles. The staff was a delight.

This was such a fun place to end our day out. There are 4 levels, all of which are ramps down and up along with elevators. This year is the year of the porche, so that is the featured cars on the top level. There are some fun interact things you can do with younger kids, like building a weighed car, racing on an electric track, and some car simulators.

Car enthusiasts, start your engines! Plus anyone looking to take a ride back in time to discover the history of the automobile. During our visit the museum had a special Porsche exhibit which was amazing. The museum itself is a beautifully designed building, nicely organized on four levels with so much to see. Embedded throughout are (much appreciated) videos of select cars that trace their respective history. Although my children are grown, there are multiple activities for youngsters to keep their attention. Top level houses a small restaurant and cafe. Upon your exit you’ll also find a nicely stocked souvenir shop with something for everyone. Don’t pass up this gem!

One of the best car collections on the West Coast. Really well-done in representing many decades of automotive/ vehicle history! We became members because we want to visit often! A real treasure in Tacoma.

This is a fantastic car museum. Came down from Seattle on the train. Museum is about a 10 min walk from the Amtrak station.Anyone visiting the Pacific North West with an interest in automobiles should visit. The staff are more than helpful and informative. The building itself is worth a look as well.

I took my boyfriend for his birthday present because he loves cars and history. It was a great experience! There was even a guy walking around giving random trivia which we really appreciate! I wish I caught his name. We brought our little baby but there was a fantastic kid area that I can't wait to show her when she's older!

Very nice museum. Classic cars with plaques that give year and short history of car. 4 levels of well preserved beautiful cars. History about route 66 on the walls of one of the lower levels. A race car game, pine car derby, coloring drawing and small kids area. On the upper deck a stunning view of Tacoma. Staff very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging.

The museum is very clean, well kept, and has a decent selection of cars and displays to view. Layout of the museum is well done and organized, great for any audience with any amount of time set aside to spend in the museum. There is a basic cafe on the very top floor that looks over a lot of the first display of cars and the inside of the buildings architecture. Spoke with some of the staff and they were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. My main complaints is that I wish there were more interactive displays like some of the ones at the ends, or the diagrams in the aisle towards the bottom with the breakdown of oil refining and hybrid drivetrains. That was very cool and the museum would be top-tier with more of that, and for more parts of car history. It had a car Sim, but it cost money. There were also a lot of TV displays that were simply not working on the day we were there. I also felt it was a bit pricey for what was there, a large group of people can add up to over $100 total.

I've been to a lot of car museums and this one ranks with the best of the best. The facility itself is a work of art, truly unique. The car collection is extensive with plenty of variety and every vehicle on display is in amazing condition. I'm glad I was able to fit this into our trip.

What a fantastic auto museum! It was a birthday surprise for a 22 year old from Nicaragua, who loves cars and motorcycles. Several floors of beautiful antique and modern vehicles. My friend enjoyed 2 different racing/driving simulators. Staff roam around and will answer any questions, as well as give background on various vehicles. Great customer service. Tabo at the simulator was very friendly and knowledgeable.

This was an excellent museum. The only real draw back is the Kids area really lacks in stuff to do and could use some TLC. If we want to ensure the continued growth in car lovers they should really have a large kids area to play and keep the education going. Better kids area will get you a consistent 5 stars.

They have so many Cars that are both old and new. You can learn so much from the workers as well. I give this place 5 stars and for good reason.

The kids liked looking at all of the different cars. The museum is bigger than I expected with four stories of cars to look at. There are also some hands on exhibits for the kids.

Today we checked out the unbelievable LeMay Automotive Museum in Tacoma Washington, about 40 minutes south of Seattle. This museum is 4 levels and is built in such a way that cars can be driven up and down once inside like a parking garage. Admission is discounted if you are a State Farm, AAA or Hagerty member.This museum has a focus on American vehicles, and examples inside went back 120 years or so. Arranged on different levels were various collections and notable examples. Quite a few historically relevant cars caught my eye, but I’m sure I missed some as well.A notable attraction here was a very large slot car track, incredibly themed and full of detail. I challenged Jessica to a race, and she won of course.In the lower levels a surprising display told the story of Route 66, and there was an entire write up on Delgadillo’s Snow Cap in Seligman Arizona. Some of you may recall a detailed review I made about this place after discovering it on accident in 2023. Founder Juan’s brother Angel is credited with saving Route 66 by advocating for it to become a historic highway, and also served as a creative consultant to the production team for the animated Disney film CARS.All together, this is no denying that the LeMay is an incredible collection of vehicles and a must see destination for the bucket list of any car enthusiast.

What a day... What a lovely day..If you like cars, you will like this museum..If you love cars, grew up with cars = freedom as a kid, then you will love this place..If you recognize the REAL relationship between America and cars, then you have to visit this shrine to the V8. Supercharged. Shiny and chrome..When you are in the musuem, YOU HAVE TO DO THE RACING SIMULATOR. I think it is on the third floor. OMG it is the bomb. My son and I loved it..Simply amazing. 5 star experience. The sound, feedback, and dynamics made me feel the race IN MY STOMACH!!! It was awesome!.Very cool 😎

This is definitely the place to be if you love cars. There is free parking at the location and the ticket prices are 22$ for adults. The washrooms were clean and the staffs were great. There is a cafeteria in the location where you can spend some time. The whole location is a four storeyed and has amazing collection of cars on each floor. Starting from vintage to the latest. There is a gift shop inside the location where you can buy so many items.

A brilliant display of Dale Chihuly’s work. The glass bridge is a must-visit when in Tacoma. The bridge connects the Washington state history museum to the Foss waterway. There are more than 30 artworks on display.

Access to world-renowned art without a fee is always a good thing. Worth a walk across if you’re in the area to visit any of the museums or the waterfront. Would recommend.

Beautiful bridge decorated by amazing glass artworks and sculptures, and has fantastic views of Tacoma Union Station on one side and the Museum of Glass on the other.At the same time, this bridge is a convenient pedestrian pathway to go over Interstate 705, traveling between Pacific Ave and the waterfront.Beauty and functionality–excellent example of the combination of city infrastructure and public art.

The bridge is super beautiful, magnificent, and outstanding. I do not know any words that can describe how fascinating it is. The bridge is accessible to people without any fees. It connects the waterway and the Washington State Museum. It is worth your time to explore it when visiting museums nearby. I would love to come back at some day.

I took my out of town guests to see the museum but it was closed. They enjoyed walking around and looking at Chilhuly Bridge of Glass and outside the museum.

What a beautiful part of town. You can park downtown and walk over the freeway on this amazing bridge. The glass art is really cool and the whole atmosphere is what makes Tacoma a neat town.

The bridge is beautiful with the glass pieces on the wall ond overhead. It's a really neat masterpiece to see. We went on a Monday, and the museum portion was not open, but you are still able to walk across the bridge and enjoy the views.

Amazing collection!! The museum takes about 1.5 hours to experience. They make kids draw ideas and then they build one of it out of glass once every month! So cool! The glass making process is incredible, lot of fun to watch

I’ve wanted to see this museum for years and finally did. It was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. A highly skilled glass blower just happened to be featured that day in the studio so I got to see experts in action along with narration and a video screen covering everything up close so you could see it from any seat in the studio. The museum was just the right size for me, all on one floor with only 2 or 3 galleries (4?) - I personally don’t like huge museums that take hours to get through that, consequently, make me feel rushed and afraid I won’t see it all. How much can one person really take in and fully appreciate in one visit anyway?! I went mid week, early afternoon, off season, and there were few other people there in that particular day so I never felt crowded or pushed. The staff were friendly and there’s a nice little deli/restaurant with good coffee, desserts, salads, and a variety of meat and veggie sandwiches plus a nice (high end$$) gift shop and clean bathrooms (I counted 3) - what else could I have wanted? I was so impressed that I bought a membership and plan to take visiting guests next time they come to town. I drove 110 miles, one way, to see it and every mile was well worth it. I highly recommend this museum if you want to see glass blowing in action and the very creative, beautiful, and high quality end products that the artists create.

I'm an Artist from San Diego, CA and through a series of fortunate events, ended up at The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA. Employees were very knowledgeable, experienced and were able to answer all of my questions. The work opened my mind to the possibilities of what can be made out of Glass. The 'workshop' area was AMAZING.A well earned 5 stars 🌟

Price is around $18 per person. They have a showroom/kernel where you can physically see glass being blown and made into an object. There are so many beautiful creations to see that others have made. Honestly a beautiful museum. Kids are able to make/design glass and it is displayed. Love the imagination of what others can create. Definitely recommend.

I recommend viewing any work going on in the Hot Shop before looking at the artwork.We viewed an exhibit for a short time before the demonstration, and it changes the way you look at the work after seeing the skill that goes into making glass art.The also have little sections for kids to play and interact as well.

Came here on the museum promo Thursday (don’t remember what it’s called exactly?) so it was free! This museum was super cool, and I’m just so glad I get to visit it. There were many beautiful glass exhibits and interactive areas. Stories behind the art work was cool too. Suitable for all ages.The glass making workshop was also a really cool place to stop by to watch people making glass products!! It was really warm in there, so I appreciate the drinking water provided at the entrance/exit.The souvenir shop had good selection of items but sadly they didn’t have any snow globes!

My EBT card saved me a ton of money on admission! The staff was friendly and polite. The gallery displays were amazing and so beautiful. The gift shop has really expensive art pieces for sale; I bought a Tshirt.

The bridge to the museum is decorated with colorful glass artwork. The museum host glassblowing events, one of which we got the chance to watch. It was cool to see how glass is made. That said, their glass exhibitions are very interesting too, and worth taking a look around. There awaits a presentation of so many different glass artwork variations and styles. The experience is very inspiring and educational.

So much fun!! 💜😊 The best part was having a fun day with my daughter. There was an area that they made glass sculptures out of kids drawings. That was 👍😃 Blessings!!

You know how sometimes we just go to places without any expectations but they turned out to be the best places ever you have seen. This is one of those places. Glass art blew my mind and the glass workshop inside the museum was something spectacular to see. Loved this place.

We went on the free open-later-evening that happens every 3rd Thursday of the month and had a great time. The highlight was the Hot Shop where we got to watch the team make glasses for a fundraiser event and get to ask questions and just watch the process. But the galleries were nice as well and certainly a nice evening activity to do for us.

Hot tip: The outside (and bridge) at night is really cool (and free) don't miss that part!Inside: History was cool to learn and when we went there were amazing (and heavy) pieces on being Black in the usa, and a really cool school of fish sculpture which you have to experience in real life to truly appreciate.Additional info: Gift shop was pricey but if you're a member you get 10% off. Also my partner proposed to me here, it was a nice place to be proposed to. 😉💍

A must visit for Tacoma. The rotating exhibits are always inspiring and thought provoking. It's a wonderful experience to watch artists working in the hot shop. The gift store has many things available at different price points so anyone can take home a little piece of art. And the glass bridge is open and accessible for everyone at no cost. The museum itself is beautifully designed and fits neatly into its spot on the harbor.

Every third Thursday is free 5-8pm.You’re able to view beautiful glass galleries, glass being blown, kids area (with light up toys, drawing area, magnets, shadow work), and a store to buy glass for your home. The exterior is beautiful, artwork in itself with both the unique building and glass fountain near the water. It’s $5 to park building.

This is a very nice museum filled with pretty and creative glass art. It has a workshop where you can watch glass blowers at work demonstrating how to create such art. I also loved the gallery dedicated to elementary school kids' designs - very humorous and creative stuff! Also liked the store where you can buy a few memoribila on the way out. I would say one would spend 2 hours here. It's worth a visit.

Such beautiful artwork! You can get an EBT card discount too! Helps out quite a bit. The exhibits are so amazing and mesmerizing. My son really enjoyed the kid interactive area they have! I definitely want to go back someday to watch them in the glass work room! It's the only thing we missed because when we got to that point they were on a lunch break.

I highly reccom3nd coming to watch them blow glass in winter, front row seats are nice and toasty!Discounted admission because one of their galleries was closed. It was still really lovely and worth the visit. I will have to come back to see it when its fully open. The kids art is hilarious (and disturbing).

I was both impressed and unimpressed. Overall it's a really nice location, especially on a sunny day. There were some exhibits that made my think wow, that's beautiful, and some that perplexed me. But art is subjective, so overall it was a nice visit. The "Strange Fruit" exhibit was hauntingly poignant. I thought about it several times after I left the museum.

Great place! A lot of cool things to see. The gift shop was disappointing, unfortunately. The cashier had no idea how much the stuff in the store was :/ I had to show her where the things I wanted to buy were.

This is an official US Navy Museum, free admission, located just outside the main gate to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on the Bremerton waterfront. There is not parking nearby - you'll have to find a street spot up the road and walk down. Be conscious of the time limits for your parking, this museum can take a couple hours to work through and most of the parking is 2 hours max. Beware also that trying to drive down to the museum directly can easily result in ending up at the guard shack for the ferry - if that happens, just tell the guard you're there for the museum and they'll let you turn around. But you'll have to wait in line until you reach the shack... so just avoid it in the first place and do NOT continue on the road that passes the museum.Now, as far as the museum, it's ok. I have been three times and it's more interesting each time, but it still feels underwhelming compared to other navy museums like the undersea one in Keyport and the national one in DC, or the submarine force museum in Groton. There's plenty here to teach you about the shipyard itself, but not really that much on the navy... it's heavily local focused. There's also WAY too much reliance on text and photos, instead of primary artifacts. Some exhibits are literally just walls with works painted on them. That, to me, is unacceptable. The artifacts the museum has on display are, frankly, pretty boring too. Wooden patterns for chains and nuts and other assorted ship fittings, some helmets, some obscure and mundane snips, wedges, and other tools, a time clock, some signs, etc. The most interesting items are the bell from the Navy's first ammunition ship, USS Pyro, and the skylight from the old gunboat Nipsic that survived the Apra Harbor disaster and went on to be PSNY's original headquarters during construction of buildings ashore. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that there was nothing - not a single piece - of the famous battleship USS Washington on display anymore. The museum tells me the wheel and bell from that ship are in storage to go back to DC, which is stupid, since the namesake is the state of Washington. The only USS Seattle they have anything from is the Cold War-era replenishment ship, so nothing from the famous armored cruiser that served as the US fleet flagship in the 1920s and survived longer than any other ship of her type. Hugely missed opportunity. I understand the museum is going for interactivity, but the result of such a lack of artifacts is that many of the rooms feel empty other than the paint on the walls, and some of the exhibits just don't flow because they're all vertical-space. I continue to be disappointed in this place for this exact reason. The best exhibit overall is the Nimitz-class carrier exhibit upstairs, which definitely represents the features of that kind of ship well, and is informative and full of items from the John C. Stennis (CVN-74). The patrol boats exhibit, while interesting to read, is another huge miss when it comes to artifacts. A couple models, a boxed game, a couple badges, and a builder's plaque is all they could really muster here... meanwhile two of the ships shown in pictures on the wall were laying around like so much junk just three hours southwest in Astoria, Oregon. Sad they couldn't get some actual artifacts to support the exhibit.Overall, it's still an informative museum and is well maintained, so I can't consciously give it less than three stars. But I was definitely disappointed at the lack of actual navy items on display for being a navy museum. It just feels incoherent and empty unless you're either a/ totally unaware of anything navy and this is your first exposure to the topic or b/ really, really interested in the shipyard.

Naval History , Artifacts, Displays , and recent information about USS John Stennis and the USS Nimitz housed In a beautiful building nestled near the Ferry Terminal and bordering the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. I served aboard the Nimitz and was pleasantly surprised to see so much about her history and how it intwines with the history of Bremerton and the ship yard. The staff were perfect . The visit was worth the long trip from Huntsville Alabama .

Loved this museum! Very interactive. Great kids play area with a Navy theme. If you want to learn about the Bremerton Naval facilities and Naval history, this is a wonderful place to visit. The staff is very nice and accommodating which adds to the experience.

This place was really neat! It was so much bigger than I thought it would be. The gentlemen at the front entrance gave us an overview of what there was to see inside the museum and some of the highlights. They also mentioned that there was a plant seed give-a-way going on that we might want to check out. There was just so much to read about and such a great display of pictures, diagrams, actual pieces of ships, models, movies, and recordings of history. I really enjoyed our visit and picked up some plant seeds to start a garden. What a bonus. Their gift shop was super cool too and had a lot of fun and interesting things to buy. The prices were very reasonable and the guy who was running the store was so funny and friendly and had some great stories. I learned so much during this trip and I am glad I went. It is very family friendly and people of any age would find something interesting here. I would highly recommend it.

Lots of interesting reading about history of the navy in the exhibits. The museum is quite small - a two-floor house - but well packed with content. Right next to ferry terminal if you are coming on foot.

This FREE museum (donations accepted and encouraged), is right next to the Bremerton Ferry Terminal and surrounded by the amazing Fountain Park (with “exploding” or “erupting” fountains in multiple wading pools. It has 2 floors of exhibits and is staffed by retired navy vets. There are lots of exhibits on the history of the shipyard especially during the world wars. It also has an exhibit on the future potential of 3D printers uses on ships at sea. There is a small children’s area on the first floor where kids can play. Many of the exhibits are photographs or equipment behind glass so it may not be super fun for little ones (except the play area). If you are waiting for the ferry between 10am-4pm you can easily squeeze this in in about 30-45 minutes.

Pretty cool free museum. A lot of pride with their displays and knowledgable volunteers. The sub and aircraft displays are very insightful. The park area behind the museum is also nice and peaceful and a nice place to take in the water.

Actually better than i was expecting. I served on an aircraft carrier that was stationed in Bremerton. Getting to show my family the actual rack layout and how it was clinging to get into and out was enjoyable. Very friendly staff. I really enjoyed the exhibits.

The kids loved the museum (ages 4 and 7). We spent about two hours exploring and learning. The kid’s especially loved playing in the science room with the machines and robots! They had fun playing dress up in the galley as well! Great museum!

Highly recommend coming to the naval museum. There's lots of interesting information about the history of our Navy and this particular location as well. Very detailed exhibit on life aboard an aircraft carrier real examples of equipment and accommodations. The staff was kind and helpful.

Updated 05/20/23: I had a great chance to visit the museum again. The senior citizens up front are super helpful and amazing. They have locker rooms for your bags, and backpacks in front. I love coming back and back to this historical museum to re-learn about our awesome memorial history.This museum is above what I expected as a historical location. I had a lot of fun and an exciting journey to learn and discover sailors’ life and the establishment of the shipyard in the 1890s and contemporary world. There is no admission fee to enter, and its location is close to the ferry terminal. Everyone can check it out quickly when waiting for the ferry. I have been here two times and still feel great not only the museum’s contents but also the staff’s hospitality and friendliness.

I'm a navy veteran and learned about the museum while planning my trip to Bremerton. The ferry ride was amazing and the scenery from Seattle to the islands was breathtaking.

This museum is pretty cool! So wonderful to explore the ship and get to see what it looks like. I love the fact it is right next to the Water taxi dock. The gift shop is cute. Looks at hats and t-shirt options. The entry fee seems pretty reasonable. Note, any charge via cc there will be a fee. Is better to be paying with cash. They do offer a discount for seniors and youth. The ship is 418 feet and she retired in November of 1982. I think is worth the money to tour this one.

Tickets for adults - $18. It was truly a new experience for me to step inside a ship that had been through the Vietnam War and been to Russia as well. The rustic smell inside can be uncomfortable but the history was amazing to learn about. The bunk beds were small and I still cannot believe the max occupancy of this ship is 275!Highly recommend for explorers out there!

The self-guided tour gives you plenty of time to explore the open areas on your own time, which is good because there is enough to learn and see to spend hours and hours here! We enjoyed the history, intricate engineering, and sobering reality of the comforts our forces leave behind to defend freedom. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience here. There was very few people there, which made it comfortable moving about tight quarters without getting into peoples' space. The volunteers were so kind and encouraged us to ask questions. There were bottles of hand sanitizer scattered throughout. There were also bathrooms onboard, which was great. The air is dry and musky, so if you're prone to nosebleeds, bring tissues, and bring a jacket as it is cooler below deck. Great experience!

The placards explain the different equipment, so for people unfamiliar with themachinery can understandthe uses.As a retired Navy man of 25 years, mostly on destroyers (tin cans), memories came flooding back.Be aware that with traversing the ship, steep ladders are throughout. This is so cool! It's a self-guided tour of a good-sized naval ship. You get to learn about how the ship operated, how the crew survived, and some of the ships history in combat. Definitely worth taking the time of day to do this tour!

If you're a Naval history buff this is probably fascinating. But as a civilian without a particular interest, I found it disappointing. Though there is information posted throughout the ship about things like semaphore and machinery, they're pretty dry. Something like a through line describing the daily life of a crewman or an officer would be a lot more fun for the average visitor. Also, in order to reach most ship levels it's necessary to go up very steep stair/ladders, and there are no alternatives, so it's definitely not accessible for those with mobility issues. For the price ($18 per ticket for adults) it's not well curated or in great shape, unfortunately.

What a cool experience! This destroyer has some neat history tied to the US involvement in the Vietnam War, and it's well worth a visit!You get a self-guided tour of nearly the whole ship with signs explaining much of what you are seeing and experiencing. Do know this is not a quick stop, and to get the most out of the visit, you will need to be able to climb up and down narrow ladders and stairs. On the day we visited, we were a former crew member volunteering in the galley, answering questions, and talking about his experience on the ship - Doug was great!The POW section with its stories was an appreciated addition, and I found it fascinating.It can get pretty spendy for the whole family but one thing is that your tickets are good for the whole day. So we did half of the ship and then left and got lunch and then came back and finished. That was a great way to do it, and it kept the kids from being overdone.Highly recommend, especially if you are interested in US History, the US Navy, and/or the Vietnam War.

Great place if you want to learn about the battleship and don't mind small spaces but the space on the ship is often very small so some might feel trapped. Also it's a must that you wear comfortable clothes to move around in, since the ship has 5 floors but the stairs are very steep and narrow. But overall a great experience!

Fascinating self guided walking tour of this ship. It's amazing that people lived and worked in these cramped spaces for months at a time. The tour is physically intense for people who aren't in the best shape and for small kids. So many stairs...I recommend taking this tour to anyone interested in somewhat recent US military history.

Love it! You can really explore, and they made improvements to help the experience. The exhibit on the prisoners' experience in Vietnam is very interesting. There is parking nearby. We parked in the multi-story lot. There is also a small shack on the dock with snacks if you are hungry.

TL;DR If you're a history nerd or a naval nerd, check it out.This is a self guided tour of the Naval Destroyer class ship, USS Turner Joy. The tour can go as long or as short as you want, but I took about 1.5 - 2 hours to get through the whole thing, and I took my time. The ship itself has an incredible amount of history that is laid out well within each station. It is not friendly to anyone with mobility issues if you plan to explore anything beyond the main deck level. Additionally, there are no water fountains, and only one bathroom onboard, so go before you embark. Internally, there are a lot of unique things in this ship, like how it was both the first and last ship to engage enemies in Vietnam, and lots more that you'll learn as you wander the internal labyrinth packed with information. The USS Turner Joy is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Quiet and understated. The visitor office was closed when we went, but I found the exhibit to be very educational and surprisingly moving. It's a testament to the Japanese people of Bainbridge Island and the life they had built there, what was lost, the community that welcomed them home and the life they rebuilt there. Beautiful.

We are visiting the area from the Midwest and always find the National Park sites well maintained. There was a lot of thought put into honoring the families displaced from this island after the Pearl Harbor bombing and beginning of World War II. It was very serene when we visited. We were the only ones there so we were able to take our time and read all the plaques. It's worth the stop if you're in the area.

Really fun and cool. Good place to go for a field trip during the World War II unit in history class when learning about Japanese Internment to give people an idea of what it was like for people close to home. Very peaceful and quiet and you can add your own origami crane stings there. Really cool wood art and name plates with peoples names and ages on them. Everything is pretty easy to walk through as well.

Sobering and educational stop in Bainbridge. Very worth your time. You'll see where Japanese Americans stood as they were forced to board a ferry, not knowing when to expect next as they were headed to internment camps just for having Japanese heritage. At each step along the path, I learned something I didn't know. The quotes from Japanese Americans that were shared were powerful. I appreciated the spaces available for leaving paper cranes.There is a walking path to get to most of the memorial that is pretty accessible. It is not steep and is fairly short (you can see the end of it from the parking lot) though some people may have difficulty. There is a resting spot partway if needed. And wheelchairs will be fine.There is no cost to visit this memorial. It does close at 5pm, so you will want to go during the day. We went on a Saturday afternoon and did not feel crowded at all or have difficulty finding a parking spot.

This is a younger memorial park that pays tribute to the American Japanese families forced off Bainbridge by executive orders just after Pearl Harbor was bombed. A place to visit as most of this was missed in our history books. A beautiful place that turned so many lives in different directions.

The park ranger at the memorial was informative and helpful. Happy to see this important part of history portrayed in respectful way and in a beautiful natural space. Also pretty harbor views from the viewpoint at the end of the memorial.

Sobering historic site on scenic Bainbridge Island. Come see the spot our Japanese American friends and neighbors were forced from their homes, onto a ferry, and into internment camps during WWII. Powerful and informative signage about these families and their influence on the island before and after the war. Set in the actual spot these brave souls stepped off the old Eagledale dock, some never to return. We must remember and honor their sacrifice so it never happens again. Limited free parking and bus parking/turnaround for school groups. Adjacent to Pritchard Park beach and trails with ample room for picnicking or sunbathing. Pet friendly and free to the public.

05/06/23: It did worth my valuable time to visit this historical landmark. I have learned more about the past histories of Japanese American during WWII (I.e. pain, difficulties, etc). After the visit, I felt more inspired and educational to keep the peace and harmony around the world

A super well curated little memorial to one of the many times when the USA showed it's dark side. It does a great job at really setting a tone with minimal information. It's not very big but shares a really powerful message with a few sculptural elements.

I learned about some local history today. What a beautiful memorial and educational place. I loved that the names of the 227 people were on the wall and I liked that their ages were included as well. People that have visited have made colorful, origami, crane chains. There is limited parking in a gravel lot and a porta-potty.

Beautiful memorial with great history of Japanese Immigrants in the Island. The admission is free. Dogs are welcome.There was a history lesson from the local at the entrance if you’re interested in listening to the history of this memorial and how Japanese immigrants ended up living in other parts of the country. We learned so much about the Japanese Immigrants history from visiting this beautiful place. If you’re in the Island, and have 30 min to spare, please stop by (if you have a car). Easy drive from the city.

A very humbling and educational experience, learning about the ugly history of the United States. The walk is not long, maybe .15 miles, however it’s all shaded and very clean area. All of the walkway is basically shaded, and has a nice parking area that also gets you down to the beach. Would highly recommend to younger adults to teach them about the history and help understand the history of the local island.

Very moving memorial for this tragic time in US history. Well done, well thought out, simple, moving memorial. Plans for expansion are in motion.

I LOVE coming here. It's free admission, but they take donations via cash or card. They always have different local artists displaying their work, and all of their work has been phenomenal. The work they display is emotionally impacting and even though it's a small museum, the work they display is intriguing enough to where I've spent a good amount of time reading about their work. The people that work at the museum have a lot of knowledge about the artists as well, which is great since they helped provide insight on the artists' work.

Beautiful art works from artists who are present in their galleries. Awesome to have met such great artists in my life. The creativity and their perseverance make one think how can they do something as beautiful as this art. Truly an amazing place to spend couple of hours. Must visit.

The Cory Bennett Anderson Heroes exhibit was on display here when we visited. It was a great exhibit that took up the entire 1st floor. It's a small museum, but the exhibits on display are unique. The museum is free and the staff is very friendly.

If you are visiting Bainbridge, drop by this museum. It's free to visit and it's quiet. There's interesting indigenous art. One of the curators demonstrated the movement of the masks for us. There is modern and pop art, which gives you a range of styles to enjoy.

Nice exhibits. Just the right number of things to see in one visit. Also, the museum store was unusually nice and there is a small cafe with a limited selection for lunch.

Beautiful building that is also LEED gold. The art is a mix of local and special exhibit, definitely worth visiting if you take the ferry over from Seattle to Bainbridge it makes for a nice way to spend the morning!

Although relatively small, entrance is free! Artworks are awesome and unique, a lot of mixed media pieces. It is located right in front of the ferry terminal road.

Nice little museum. They rotate their exhibitions three times a year, so you'll see different ones every time you go.

What an amazing museum... and free! This museum was much much better than I was expecting. Beautiful displays of all types of art. Very well taken care of building and restrooms, and very courteous staff. This is a must see if you are in the area.

EXCELLENT ATTRACTION TUCKED AWAY ON AN ISLANDI was only going to take the ferry from Seattle and back again, but thought I'd not waste the trip and spend the time between ferries wandering around Bainbridge Island. My first stop, after walking up from the ferry, was this place. It's perfectly located to catch your attention, then having free/donation entry meant that frugal me had to pop in and have a look.I'm glad I did. It's an eclectic mix in a beautiful building and the gift shop is worth a browse.

It is a museum with very good architecture, it is completely free. I liked the layout of each exhibition room. Every year they put on new exhibitions according to the season or a particular artist. and at the end it has its gift shop.

What a magical place! I am visiting Seattle from NYC on a budget, and this was one of my favorite activities. As a free/donation-based museum, I was pleasantly surprised by the vast, wonderful, and diverse collection of local artists. There are lots of beautiful and thought-provoking pieces of different mediums that take you on a range of thought + sensory journeys as you wander through. I particularly loved the art commenting on the effect we’ve had on nature and our connection with it. The book-making room was also very cool and unique, I spent so much time in there trying to read each intricate little piece! The museum is very well kept with nice bathrooms and great staff. There is also a lovely rooftop garden to soak up the sun. I am looking forward to coming back on my next trip to the PNW!

Amazing art museum. It was a unique experience for us. Although the entry is free, donations are welcome. I found about few artists which were new to me. Great work.

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) has fabulous exhibits that are free to the public. They also have an auditorium that you can book for events. Our bicycle advocacy nonprofit, Squeaky Wheels, recently hosted an author event w/ Seattle Bike Blogger, Tom Fucoloro and his new book Biking Uphill In The Rain. Cole, our BIMA rep, had everything ready and took care of everything we needed. The event ran seamlessly.

Absolutely stunning space and ambiance. Friendly staff. Free entrance but donations encouraged... easy to donate with cash or card at the desk, but not a heavy sell.
