CandyKisses: Urgent The first official holiday of its kind in Iraq next Tuesday

On Tuesday of next week, Iraq will witness the first official holiday of its kind in the country.

June 25 falls on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah, and will be an official holiday in the Iraqi provinces on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, which was recently approved by parliament.
A member of the parliamentary legal committee, Aref Hamami, said that "the holiday will include all Iraqi provinces, including the Kurdistan region" as a federal holiday.

The Alawite holy shrine in Najaf has begun preparations to celebrate Eid al-Ghadir.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives voted on the law on public holidays on May 22, which includes about 11 days a year, as well as public official holidays, which are Friday and Saturday, with the authority of the Council of Ministers to cancel the Saturday holiday when necessary.

The official holidays law, which was voted by parliament, includes, Friday and Saturday as official holidays throughout Iraq, in addition to Eid al-Fitr and al-Adha, Labor Day, Eid al-Ghadir, the 10th of Muharram, the first of Muharram, the Prophet's birthday 12 Rabi' al-Awwal, New Year's Day, Army Day 6 of January, Nowruz 21 March, and 16 March was added at the last moment, which is the day or anniversary of the Halabja tragedy.

The law also granted some "dedicated" public holidays, i.e. not public, to minorities, including Jesus, Sabians and Yazidis.

MZ: Good Question. Why do I have so many bankers from different banks across the US expecting something major to do with the US dollar to happen on the 23rd? I don’t know. But even people in Iraq are looking at specifically around that time period as well.

MZ: What is the Fed doing on the 24th of this month? They have an open meeting on foreign exchange rate at 4:15 PM . They will be discussing foreign exchange rates.

Member: And the Federal Reserve Board announces the results from its annual bank stress tests on Wed. June 26th at 4:30 edt.

MZ: This is all interesting timing as we hear about changes happening on the 23rd.

Member: do you think Iraq will put the dinar on forex with only a NEER (Nominal Effective Exchange Rate) and then float? Or Immediately apply the REER (Real Effective Exchange rate) as well?

MZ: No, I do not think we will see the Iraqi dinar float. I believe they have been clear they want to retain value and peg it to assets. But, I could be wrong.

MZ: I did hear more from Iraq sources today confirming about the ATM installations and training.

Member: so mark with Iraq putting ATM out frank said 10000 an troops guarding them wouldn't think we days ….not weeks or months away.

MZ: I do know of a few bond contacts who were again updating final contracts. I hope we hear more news on that soon. This hurry up and wait is frustrating.

MZ: I do have a fun bank story. “A person went into the bank to ask questions. The banker said they were aware of the coming change with foreign currencies …but we are not exchanging at this location. He said We are doing it at a location in this region , but I am not allowed to tell you which location yet.

MZ: I thought this was great….coming from one of the top banks.

Member: Went Canada trust bank . They exchange Kuwaiti dinar but not Iraq dinar. However they are installing new bank machine.

Oil Clarifies The Details Of The Memorandum Of Understanding Signed With The American Honeywell

Posted On06-18-2024 By Sotaliraq The Ministry of Oil explained the details of the memorandum of understanding signed with the American company Honeywell to develop refineries, and while it indicated the Prime Minister’s directive to prepare a study to establish a pipeline network adjacent to the development road, it revealed projects that will enter service soon related to raising refining capacity.

Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs, Hamid Al-Zobaie, said, “There is a memorandum of understanding signed by the Minister of Oil under the auspices of the Prime Minister with Honeywell, which is one of the large specialized companies with extensive work in all activities,” noting that “a workshop was held with the company.” Concerning refinery activity.”

Al-Zobaie explained, “The memorandum that was signed aims to develop projects for developing refineries and to meet what was directed by the Prime Minister regarding the refinery capacity reaching 40 percent of the crude oil production capacity,” noting that “raising the refinery capacity to 40 percent will add value to the crude oil produced and lead to To raise financial returns and thus support the national economy.”

He pointed out that “7 projects were discussed regarding refineries, with a capacity of 70 thousand barrels for each project, in the governorates of Maysan, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, and Najaf Al-Ashraf, in addition to the third unit in the Doura, Haditha, and Qayyarah refineries.”

He pointed out that “the ministry’s plan was presented and discussed extensively with Honeywell during the workshop held, and it is hoped that a complete vision will be presented by the company regarding the process of developing the refineries with the proposed capabilities during the next two weeks.”

He added, “Honeywell is known for its technical and technological expertise and capabilities, which is important for gaining and transferring expertise to national cadres and developing facilities,” stressing that “after completing the preparation of the projects, the implementation mechanism and time periods for their completion will be determined.”

He noted that “the Prime Minister paid great attention to the refinery sector through development and raising the capabilities of refineries due to its great economic importance,” indicating that “great achievements have occurred in the refinery sector during the past short period, represented by the completion of the fourth unit in the South Refinery, which added 70,000 barrels of refining capacity,

in addition to About the Al-Azmra unit in the same southern refineries, which will be opened very soon, as it added about 1,200 cubic meters of high-octane gasoline, as well as the completion of the Al-Azmra unit in the Doura refinery and the rehabilitation of the North refinery in record time, which added refining capacity of up to 150,000 barrels.

He continued: “During the next few days, the CCR unit in the North Refinery will enter service and will add approximately 3,000,000 liters of high-octane gasoline. The Izmora unit in the North Refinery has also been operated,” stressing that “all of these projects were completed in very short periods.”

He continued, “The upcoming projects, which will enter service soon, will be a contributing factor in raising refining capacities and filling the local consumer need for some products, including the FCC unit in the southern refineries, as it is hoped to be completed in the first half of next year, as it will add gasoline production.”

Iraq Is The First Arab Country In Developing Oil Pipelines

Energy Economy News _ Baghdad Iraq ranked first as the most developed Arab country for oil pipelines, according to data issued by the specialized Global Energy Monitor platform, until May 2024.

BRICS 2024: XRP In The Spotlight As Russia Confirms New BRICS Payment System

The BRICS group is advancing its currency sufficiency scheme with the potential development of its own independent payment system.

Is XRP In View as BRICS Bridge Currency? According to a research paper first spotted by XRP enthusiast Amelia, Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that the bloc is finally moving forward with its alternative currency plan.

From the report, there are indications the bloc would explore the use of Ripple-associated XRP for cross-border settlements.

Before now, the Bank of Russia introduced a project on cross-border transfer implementation. This project reportedly considered the use of the Ripple payment system. It was perceived as an excellent basis for the development of a system for cross-border settlements for the group.

It is worth noting that XRP is known for its transaction speed and low costs. Hence, it seem like a viable system the bloc is considering to revolutionize its international payment goals.

This move to adopt the cryptocurrency may trigger a massive jump in the price of XRP. CEO & Founder of Cryptonairz, Robert Doyle (Crypto Sensei) believes that XRP’s price may reach $10,000 if BRICS countries adopt it widely.

There is a general opinion that member countries in BRICS stands to gain so much from choosing XRP as their alternative to the United States dollars. The volatile currencies and developing economies of these nations are perceived as challenges that XRP could improve.

The security committee in the Basra Governorate Council confirmed the stability of the security situation in the governorate.

Tishwash: Iraq is the first Arab country in developing oil pipelines

Iraq ranked first, as the most developed Arab country for oil pipelines, according to data issued by the specialized Global Energy Monitor platform, until May 2024.

The Arabian Gulf is among the most important regions witnessing oil pipeline construction projects globally, in light of the leadership role it plays in the global market and its possession of huge crude reserves.

Iraq topped the list of the most developed Arab countries for oil pipelines, and the oil pipeline projects - proposed and under construction - reach 3.83 thousand kilometers, divided between 75 kilometers under construction and 3.756 thousand kilometers proposed.

The marine export pipeline project, with an investment cost of $416.9 million, is scheduled to be implemented during the years 2024 and 2025, and will be implemented by the Dutch company Royal Boskalis.

This comes as the country implements plans to increase its oil production to 8 million barrels per day by 2027, contributing to Iraq topping the list of the most developed Arab countries for oil pipelines.

It is noteworthy that Iraq has about 15 lines for transporting oil, with a length of 2.09 thousand miles, and 10 lines with a length of 1.53 thousand miles for transporting petroleum derivatives, according to data issued by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). link

CandyKisses: Shameless and unacceptable statements... Al-Sahhaf calls for restraining the American ambassador

Information / Baghdad.

The spokesman for the popular legal movement, Mohammed Al-Sahaf, on Tuesday, rejected the US trusteeship over Iraq, calling on the government to rein in the new US ambassador Tracy Jacobson.

Al-Sahhaf said in a statement to the Information Agency that "the new US Ambassador Tracy Jacobson's provocative statements have floated a set of UN resolutions."

He added that "the intervention of the new Washington ambassador to Baghdad is negative and reprehensible and a clear interference in the affairs of a sovereign state," noting that "the Iraqi people reject the American trusteeship of Iraq."

"The US ambassador's statements are rude and unacceptable, and it is not the Iraqi people who are subject to US tutelage," he said.

Tishwash: Parliamentary Legal: Representatives enjoy vacation and there is no emergency session

The head of the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives, Rebwar Hadi, confirmed today, Monday (June 17, 2024), that there will be no emergency session to elect a Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Hadi told "Baghdad Today", "Members of Parliament are now enjoying the legislative recess, and there is no talk of an emergency session regarding the election of a Speaker of Parliament."

He added, "The issue of choosing a speaker for parliament requires political consensus, and there is no consensus yet regarding choosing the president."

It is noteworthy that the position of presidency of the House of Representatives has been vacant for more than 7 months, with the House failing more than once to elect a president due to the lack of consensus among the Sunni forces in electing one of the candidates.

In the latest developments in the file, the representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Mukhtar Al-Moussawi, confirmed on (June 9, 2024) the existence of a political consensus to resolve the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives after the Eid Al-Adha holiday.

Al-Moussawi told "Baghdad Today", "There is a political consensus to resolve the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives after the Eid al-Adha holiday, and there is no intention to keep Mohsen al-Mandalawi on the part of any party in the coordination framework." link

Member: MM was hepped up last night about the Dinar. Said 7.61 per Dinar figured from Pipeline dollars.

Member: MM had an important article from the Ministry of Oil stating that reopening an oil pipeline would cost $6.5B or 4.9B IQD......which is an effective exchange rate of $0.76/IQD...and that's BEFORE an RV

MZ: Whoa….that is interesting and tells us a lot about what we are seeing on the contractor side . There are many lovely rumors coming from that end of it.

Member: Meanwhile Iraqi PM Sudani has (allegedly) announced on Iraqi TV that before the end of the holiday , which was this Wed. the 19th of June, that the Iraqi citizens will have their new exchange rate, lower denoms and access to the new ATMs

MZ: There is a tremendous amount of work going n installing new ATMS. I am trying to stay grounded.

Member: Frank26 made a reference to June 23rd on yesterday’s podcast. In His opinion Iraq is finishing up strategically distributing/installing ATM machines per capita loaded with the new lower denomination notes. They know the exact number of machines (In the 10s of thousands) and how much dinar they contain. The ATM project has high security protection and should be completed and activated in 5 more days (June 23rd)

MZ: I do have reports on a number of unusual security when they are doing these installs. I agree with Frank on this one. I think he has a solid finger on this right now.

Member: Budget is law today in Iraq…at least it should be. Its 15 days since it was approved in parliament.

MZ: “A list of potential condidates for joining BRICS has appeared.” Including Algeria, Morocco, Chat, New Guina, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Palistan Pakistan Syria, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bolivia, Venezuela , Honduras. These are candidates interested in joining BRICS. And these are all very asset wealthy countries.
