OSSAA board approves football districts for 2022-23, 2023-24 seasons (2024)

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association board of directors approved football districts for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons on Wednesday.

Among the biggest changes for football in the coming years is Bixby's move to Class 6A-I. The Spartans have won six of the seven titles in Class 6A-II and have been in every championship game.

Another big change is Midwest City and Del City dropping to Class 5A to join district rival Carl Albert in the coming years.

District 1: Bixby, Broken Arrow, Enid, Jenks, Moore, Norman North, Southmoore, Westmoore

Other notes

► The OSSAA board approved a request from Oklahoma Bible Academy to plan an independent 8-man football schedule this fall. The board approved a similar request for Broken Arrow Summit Christian, but it will play an independent 8-man schedule for two seasons starting next year.

►Baseball districts for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons were approved Wednesday.

►The board approved a recommendation from the association to look into exploring a contract with GoFan to make all OSSAA playoff events use digital ticketing. A contract is expected to be voted on in September.
