Signing up for Lastpass.com
- First, log on to lastpass.com and specify your installation options
Download the suitable software for your machine. Thereafter, run the application and select the web browser you want to install LastPasson.
A prompt will appear:Do you already have an account?
Tick on the option indicated above and create an account.
Selecting your email and password
- Type in your functional email address and form a password. Instead of a simple password, use passphrase in order to ensure a secure login.
This is the same password that will be used to access your web password vault and to log into the site.
- Lastpass will enable you to list all your saved sites, their username/password and options to select and deselect the sites for import into lastpass.
You’re almost done….
- Specify whether or not lastpass should log you out when your browser closes. Staying logged in makes the page access easier. However, it is important to log out of unfamiliar computers.
You can now log in!
- After you finish installing lastpass, launch your specified web browser. Check for a dark lastpass asterisk-like icon on the toolbar.
- Type in your chosen email and password. Lastpass will remember your login.
Sharing Your Lastpass Login Credentials
Sharing credentials generally allows you to share log in data with another person without exposing the password.
Step one:
On your lastpass, go to ‘My lastpass vault’ page and click the share icon next to the site you want to share.
Step two:
In the ‘share items’ pop up dialog box, type in the recipient’s email. If the recipient is already a lastpass user, they will be notified of the under ‘New pending share offers’!
Step three:
If the share recipient clicks ‘Accept’, they will launch their share dialog and allows them to send response message. If the share recipient ‘Rejects’, they will cancel the share in which case you will be notified that your recipient did not accept the share.
Sharing with users without a Lastpass account
- If the intended recipient does not have a Lastpass account they will be given an opportunity to create an account in order to receive the shared site login.
The share lets you log on into that site the same way you log into your other lastpass sites but you will not be able to view the password.

Using Lastpass
- Clicking on the logo will yield a drop-down menu filled with different Lastpass features.
The notifications will serve as excellent reminder when using Lastpass; therefore, it is important to keep them for references. However, as you get more comfortable with the process, you can toggle some of them.
- When you create a new web service, Lastpass will prompt you to generate a secure log in. There, you can set your password and click on ‘accept’. Lastpass will then automatically fill it in for the site.
- From this point on, lastpass will automatically detect any website you’ve visited that you already created a login for. It will also prompt you to create a secure log in for new sites that you are joining.
