Agree. These small lounges are the least able to accommodate addtional visitors. This is likely going to be very frustrating for AMEX and PP cardholders.

Yeah, as I'd said in the other thread, "there goes the neighborhood". I've been in SMF and OAK a fair amount lately; they're packed to the gills even before this.

Hell, has anyone been in an AmEx Plat/Cent lounge lately? I was in PHX recently and I swear they must hand AX Plats out like candy, and at the risk of being all "Git offa mah lawn"-ish, was surprised at the number of people < ~30 or so too (who didn't seem to be there on behalf of someone else).

I'd seen in another thread that the ONT Escape Lounge is closed now- has anyone been there lately?

ONT is Aspire, not Escape.

Yup, was originally Escape, then shut down, then reopened as Aspire.

Disappointing but I guess getting more revenue during slow times is more important than shorter waits during busy times

Escape access was definitely a selling point for the Plat card, but not so much now with so many Escape lounges being complete crap now (OAK a prime example).

I considered spending the $ for a Plat card but decided that I don't spend enough time in OAK airport to make it worth all the complications that the Plat brings, with its coupon book rebate design.
