The legacy GoH benefit can only be used once. I was clearly at a dead end here so i ended the call.
I messaged on X, but still waiting for a reply.
I know the legacy guest of honor is unlimited (this is my 2nd use of the legacy in 2024)
Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
I hit 60 nights last year but i do not have a MHC.
Appreciate the post and heads up
it makes me nervous with my family members upcoming stay in Hawaii this summer.
This could be humiliating if it happened to me.
Personally if I was in your shoes I would reach out to Hyatt Guest Assistance/Relations and ask for a manager
With all due respect to many of the wonderful concierge team members they are also unfortunately some
of the agents booking these GOH awards incorrectly.
Promising one thing and then fully dropping the ball when it goes wrong other than a shoulder shrug.
If you don't like how an agent responds with a solution hang up and call again.Sometimes you do get a great
solution solving agent
Good luck

Yea I've also ran into globalist reps who are clueless about the grandfathered GOH benefit. I sought escalation and they got clarification from supervisor. No apology from them unfortunately. Huca!

The stay this time was at the HR Waikiki on my points, and she valeted a car too.
This issue was eventually fixed after 1-2 hrs of calling around and messaging on x.
If it happens again I know to call the MHC line or msg on x.
Those agents seem more knowledgeable.
I'd let your family members know to confirm GoH is good on check in. My guest checked in on 6/24 and the issue didn't pop up til today when they tried to go to the RC for breakfast.
I guess the employees weren't checking the previous morning/evening since she had already been using the RC until today.

I hit my 40 night milestone award earlier this month. If I select SUA will it expire 2/2025 or 2/2026? I would rather have 5000 points over another 2025 SUA but value the 2026 SUA over the points.

Glad to see you got it all sorted out.Bumps in the road happen how they recover from it is everything!
I will be proactive and be on my A Game not to fall into the GOH hole! Its a great benefit when they execute it on point!

Per the terms you will always get 14 months minimum until expiration after the SUA is added to your account. Then since they always have to expire the last day of February each year thats how youd determine what year youd get.
Everyone has their own values - Ive definitely seen a SUA + a GOH trade for a Category 1-4 Certificate if thats more valuable to you than 5,000 points.
Personally I value each SUA differently -
The first two Id value at 20k points each as I have guaranteed used. The third Id value at 10k, then subsequent ones at 5k. My value can change depending on travel plans but thats my standard. So each time I get 70+ I always go 10k.
